I would have done shading, except I only use Scratch for my art. I don't use any other program. BACKSTORY: Pomegranate Cat (called Pom Cat by her friends) was lonely. She was the only green cat in her town, she had large ears, and she was very self conscious. Some cats were very mean to her. They doused her in paint, and it got all over her paws, tail, and ears. She tried to wash it off, but it just stuck. She ran away to hide away from the rest of the world. She was very, very sad. She was almost too sad to go on any more, when she saw a scarf blowing in the wind. It caught on a tree, and was torn. Pom Cat watched it until the storm passed. The scarf was dirty and broken, but it had held on to that tree until the storm was long gone. Pom Cat knew that if a simple scarf could do something like that, she could too. That night, Pom Cat sat down and mended the scarf. She went back into the town, and wore her scarf with pride. She wasn't scared anymore. She found the scarf had given her peace of mind, and her demons had left with that storm. She's worn that scarf ever since, and nobody has dared to mess with a strong girl like her. BTS: Her expressions are each a part of the story; sad, then hurt, then happy and strong. I made the major detailing in vector first, then used pixels to make the shape look better. I decided to go with a paint-splattered look instead of the original drip look because it was easier for me to do, and more fun! I'm glad the palette is green, blue, purple, and pink instead of red. Especially for the paws...
