Click on the heart for a randomly generated love letter! (I couldn't quite get the text wrapping to work. Shhhh. Suggestions are welcome though.)
This whole project was inspired by 1. Twentieth-century computer scientist Christopher Strachey. In 1952 he made a love-letter generator like this one on the Mark I, an early computer (though his is a little more complicated than mine). Some people think Strachey's love-letter generator was the first example of algorithmic art. You can read more about Strachey's program and his life here: http://rhizome.org/editorial/2013/apr/9/queer-history-computing-part-three/ 2. scmb1's project Clickbait Generator which is here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/24576029/ This project is kind of a remix of Clickbait Generator--I didn't quite know how to randomly generate things so looking at/modifying some of those scripts helped a lot! Also the typewriter block was made by ErnieParke--you can see it here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/19419442/ And my word lists come mostly from this site: http://www.gingerbeardman.com/loveletter/ This is my first finished Scratch project and I'm really proud of it! *\o/* yeahhh go me
