Hi! I haven’t posted in a while, but I’ve been reading lots and thought it’d be fun to post some book recommendations. I’m aware this isn’t goodreads and no one asked, but I loved these books and would like to share the word xD I’ll go with the order the books are in on the thumbnail, so here we go: 1. Percy Jackson! I’m pretty sure most everyone has read or at least heard of pjo by now, but I wanted to include it here anyway. These were fairly quick reads for me, I read the books in two or three weeks. (There's five books in the series, around 300 pages each.) The story was awesome, fast-paced and full of humor. Also a great way to learn some Greek mythology! Be warned, the movies are INFURIATING compared to the books. o.o xD Hopefully Disney+'s show will be better! 2. Next up is Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo! It's the first book in a duology set in the Grishaverse, a fantasy world based off of Russia and the areas near it. The story's about a group of six teens from the rougher areas of Ketterdam, that are hired to break a high-class prisoner out of their equivalent of Alcatraz in exchange for a large sum of money. In the end they get double-crossed and go to find a way to get back at their betrayer, earning back what they had been promised. 3. THIS BOOK IS SO GOOD BUT I DON'T KNOW A SINGLE PERSON THAT'S READ IT!!! The Crescent Stone by Matt Mikalatos is a book I found on a shelf in my small-town library, and though I knew nothing about it I read it anyway and it ended up being my all-time favorites (along with Six of Crows). It's about a girl named Madeline who's suffering from a lung disease, and when she's near her end she's offered a cure in exchange for one year of service in the Sunlit Lands, a fantasy world ruled by the magical Elinel who look down upon the Scim. But magic comes with a price, and this book and the next two in the trilogy reveal how that magic is being paid for. Cruelly. She and her friends go to sort of reset the magic, destroying and rebuilding the system to make it better for everyone in the lands. 4. Legend by Marie Lu was recommended to me by a friend (@_TheBlackSwan_), and it's a y.a. dystopian that follows a criminal and a prodigy in futuristic America, where the East was flooded and most everyone lives in the West under the unethical rule of the Republic. The two are supposed to be against each other, and are at times, but eventually work together to head towards reforming the Republic. It's a trilogy with a prequel and an after-story that takes place a decade (I think) after the last book in the trilogy ends. I'm maybe a fifth of the way through the third book, but I'm not sure when I'll be finished because I'm also reading about three other books at the moment. 5. Absolutely Truly by Heather Vogel Frederick is a random book I picked out a year or two ago in a bargain book order, but it was great! The main character's name is Truly Lovejoy, and her family moves from Texas to New Hampshire to take over her grandparents small bookstore. She finds an undelivered letter tucked inside of an old copy of Charlotte's Web, when soon after the copy goes missing! She and some friends go to investigate the envelope, which leads them on a crazy hunt around the small town, picking up clues and figuring out who the letter was meant for, what is has to do with the copy of Charlotte's Web, and why it hadn't been delivered. 6. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. Can you believe the book is already over 24 years old?! I think we all know what the book is about, but either way this is a must to be included. Harry, your a wizard! He travels to Hogwarts, where on the train he meets Ron and Hermione, whom he befriends and they spend the next seven years growing in their magic and eventually defeating the Dark Lord. 7. KEEPER OF THE LOST CITIES!!! It's written by Shannon Messenger, and tells the story of Sophie, a girl especially smart for her age (by human standards) and can hear other's thoughts. She gets pulled into a world she had no clue of, where she starts to become the sort of chosen one that the organization called The Black Swan meant for her to be. She goes on to battle some rebels, get her friends some gelato, ride a flying unicorn, be forced to wear way too many fancy dresses and ultimately.... I don't know what comes after ultimately because there's still a ninth and tenth book coming out in the series, that already has 8(.5) books that are all around 400-800+ pages long. It's worth the time it takes to read them though, because the story is wonderful and there are SO MANY (as in at least 31 that I really like) great characters! 8. And lastly, The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart. It's full of puzzles and riddles and Morse code, and is a great lighter read! I've read the first two in the series so far, out of four. There's also a prequel: The Extraordinary Education Of Nicholas Benedict. If you've read to here, tysm! Lemme know if I should make another project like this
