Ok, this project has taken me weeks to make but it is finally here. This is how to write and publish a novel... For me. Everything in this video is from my own journey and should be taken as that. All the information with many grammar issues: Do you want to write a book? Do you want to publish a book? Well I can teach you how to to both of these things and more in this video. Let’s get started… Outline In writing, there are two types of writers: Panster and Plotters Who can fall on a spectrum between them but a lot of well know others fall on one side. This is why so much writing advice is different from author to author. The advice I will be giving for this stage is more leaning towards the side of the plotters so you can disregard my points on the section if you are a panster. Panthers are someone who writes their stories by the seat of their pants while Plotters plot out the story always knowing where they are going. When I am brainstorming I first think of a hook, a general idea for the story or series. I will make an example for you right here: A 21-year-old man named David wakes up on a raft flowing in the deep water with no memory of how they got there or what their life before really was, only having a bundle of items and cloth on their back. After I got the brainstorming done I start outlining. My outlines are usually 3,000 to 9,000 words. The time taken to write an outline can change from person to person and the time they have. Personally, for me, it takes around two to three weeks to write an 8,000 to 9,000 outline. Now to go a little more in-depth on the different parts of the outline we should start with the beginning. The beginning of any “Good book” should include a good hook, introduce the main characters and setting, and just engage the reader with an interesting setup. In the story about the raft, the interesting part of the beginning maybe how he doesn't know why he’s here, or where here is. We don’t know what’s going to happen next just like him. This story could be good for a 3rd person limited or 1st person in David's viewpoint as a pov. Now that we have the beginning of the story outlined now we need the middle! The middle of a good book should develop the characters, the story, and the setting further by not only adding more but expanding on further concepts. Another note about the middle of a story is that the actual story should be clear. In the story, I currently am writing the beginning slowly introduces the story to the characters and the reader so when the middle comes the story is clear, or at least an idea of it. The readers still shouldn’t be able to guess the rest of the entire plot in the beginning or even in the ending. Back to are example story, David could drift off to an island and start exploring discovering a fantastical monster living inside it. Now, the last part of the story is the end. But you may be wondering? How do I make an ending, well the most important element of a good ending is suspense, leave your characters all at one option which they don’t know if they can really take. Resolve loose ends and give a satisfying conclusion to the main plot and even the subplot. You can also introduce a plot twist with foreshadowing, leave the reader still with questions, just not enough to where they don’t like the book. An example of an ending could be are island story. David now on the island had made a somewhat stable shelter and food supply. But the narrowing question of what was even going on still sat in his head. He decided to go deeper into the island learning how to fight of most of the strange beasts living on it. When he got to the center he arrived at a temple. He would try to explore it but when he looked back the door would be closed trapping him. Then he could find some kind of magical gem or artifact powering the evil monster living on the island. It could slowly be corrupting the temple and the island which meant if he stade on the island bad stuff would happen. He thinks of a plan to grab the gem out of its pedestal or whatever it was on breaking the natural barrier. This could create some kind of title wave that would fly of the gem and fly through the entire island infecting it fully. Now all the beasts had been upgraded and the normal animals had also transformed into beasts. Now he has to get off the island immeldily or the end of the story could be tragic. Now the rest of the story would be him getting off, probably making a plan, and maybe even finding more stuff in the temple. That’s how you do an ending, now the example I have made isn’t the greatest as I made it very quicking and haven't written anything for it so it’s kinda random, but you still can understand the idea. First draft: Ok, so after writing all of that you now need to really write it. Yea, that was all just the outline! But don’t worry as the first draft can use the outline and wi…
