WIP remake of the 8 bit version of Sonic 1 I've been working on this project in secret It's just a better version of my sonic test project. The engine feels more stable and less crashy. Left and right arrow keys to move left or right Up to jump Down to roll if you are moving and are on the ground (Keep holding down when you are rolling, if you wanna get out of rolling, stop holding down or just jump.) E to mute music, only sound effects are playing

Minor update: 1/9/2023 Extended level Major update: 1/5/2023 Modified the AI of the "butterfly" enemy, it can now chase you in 2 directions instead of 1 and can fire in 2 directions instead of 1 Extended the level Minor update: 6/14/22 Fixed a bug where hitting an enemy sometimes results in you getting hurt and if you have no rings, dying. Minor update: 6/13/22 Fixed a bug where if you stopped holding either the left or arrow button while running, when you slow down, before you come to a stop, hold the button you was last holding, and you will be stuck at this velocity until you let go. Fixed a bug where your speed wouldn't be slowed down if going up slopes when using the mobile buttons. Minor update: 6/12/22 Changes: Finally found the sound effects for when you get hit and lose rings. Added proper sound effects to when you get hit. New update! 6/11/22 Changes: There are now scattered rings when you get hurt by an enemy while still having rings. (They cannot be collected, and there is only one scattered ring, just like in the original SMS version of Sonic 1.) There is also a placeholder sound. Until I find the sound effect, this will be used. Sonic will now face the correct direction whenever he is in his hurt state. Sonic now has temporarily invincibility whenever he gets hit by an enemy, and his sprite flickers to show he has invincibility. Bugs: Sometimes the game still thinks you are on a moving platform, and moves you like you are standing on a moving platform. At the giant hill where you roll down then get launched, if you want to roll down the hill, jump then roll down the hill if you are full speed, do not roll down when you are at full speed, because the game will just crash (Thankfully the game does save the crash) 20% of the time, hitting a enemy will not work, and you will just get hurt instead, like the enemies are invincible.
