The party stumbles through a dark forest, hurting and road-weary. An elf leads, and even with their darkvision, the forest seems black. A human calls to the elf: "Darion, do you think you could get us out the way we came in? We can go around, its dangerous in here." The elf pushes on silently. Suddenly a dim light appears faintly through the dense undergrowth, and the party speeds up, hoping for a fellow traveler's fire. The light grows brighter and brighter, until everyone has to shade their eyes, except for the blind tiefling, who drops the human's hand in the light, blushing. The forest itself seems to glow in the presence of the strange light, and what is even stranger: the tiefling can see. "Darion? Shara? Skit? I-I can see something... A small glowing orb... Can anyone else see that?" The tiefling stammers. "No, I can't see much of anything with this light blinding me!" The other member of the party, a tiny dwarf, grumbled. The tiefling glowered at the dwarf. "That must be just terrible for you," she said flatly. "Kaen..." The human said soothingly. "Let it go, Shara meant nothing by it." The tiefling stepped forward towards the orb. It seemed to grow brighter and hotted as she approached. She reached out a tentative hand and touched the orb. A white hot pain flashed through her, searing her nerves, boiling her blood, and charring her bones. When the tiefling snatched her hand back and examined it for burns, she found nothing, and felt only a slight buzzing in her fingertips. The human rushed over and grabbed the tiefling's hands. "Are you okay Kaen? you looked like you were glowing for a second!" "I'm fine, Skit!" The tiefling says, but she doesn't pull her hands away. The elf and the dwarf run to join them, and ask if they're okay. "We're fine!" The human exclaims. "Just a little... mishap, I think." The tielfing looks at the orb. "Let's set up camp a little back from this. There are plenty of bushes to shelter us from the light of it." She forced herself to drag her eyes off the orb and take a step away. "Come on guys."
