This theory explains everything in encanto: Mirabel's family have been hiding something from her: She's ADOPTED! This is why Mirabel didn't get a gift- she isn't actually part of the family I personally don't fully believe this theory (I'm 15% believing) but who knows? If Disney made a sequel could the sequel confirm this?
