Lillifina peered into the Feral den cautiously. "Ryan?!" Ryan was on the floor, his hair messy and falling over his eyes. Lillifina walked over to him quietly and knelt down beside him, stroking his hair. He stirred, then sat up. "Ryan, we have to get home! Everybody's waiting for us!" She whispered. Ryan looked at Lillifina and she gasped. His eyes were red! He scowled at her. "What do you want, you Tamed brat?" Ryan snarled. Lillifina backed away from him, and turned to run. She heard hissing behind her, and saw that Ryan had turned into his lion form, his red eyes gleaming in the moonlight. He stalked towards Lillifina, baring his sharp fangs. Lillifina backed away, but found her back against the cavern wall. Ryan pounced, his heavy paws landing on Lillifina's shoulders. She felt pain spread through her arm as Ryan opened his jaws to bite. Panic gripped the poor girl, knowing that her very own crush was about to kill her and leave her there to die. 'But that's not the Ryan I know,' she thought. Then she remembered something that Master Feister had told her. "Only love is the way to save a Feral," he had said. Lillifina loved Ryan. She could save both him and herself! She put her hands on either side of Ryan's snarling face and looked deep into his wild red eyes. "I love you," she choked out, despite the weight of Ryan's paws on her shoulders. Ryan growled, struggling underneath Lillifina's hands. "I love you," she said louder. She noticed Ryan's eyes were turning green again. He stopped growling and struggling. Ryan turned back into his human form, his eyes fully green now. He was breathing heavily, as if he had been running. His hands were on Lillifina's shoulders, where his paws had been. "Lilli-" Ryan breathed. "You saved me!" He pulled Lillifina close. She could feel Ryan's heart beating against her chest. "I hate to break it to you, but this is no place for your little- love-fest," said a rough voice behind the two teenagers. "Get them, Scar!" The last thing Lillifina felt was the hard ground as she collapsed.
