These are maths puzzles where you have to find 'a' using the equation given. The next instructions will show how to solve some examples of equations. HOW TO SOLVE AN EQUATION: """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" a+1=2 You could probably figure out in your head that a=1 because with the equals sign, WHATEVER YOU DO TO ONE SIDE YOU HAVE TO DO TO THE OTHER. That is very important. It means with that easy equation (a+1=2), you can minus 1 from both sides (a+1-1=2-1). Do you see the +1-1 ? That is definitely 0 so it is now: a=2-1. We also know that 2-1=1 so we can change that bit as well. Now we have: a=1. And just like that, we have find 'a'!!!!! YAY. WHAT DOES 2a MEAN??? """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""' With algebra (that means representing numbers with letters in formulae/equations), for multiplying numbers with letters (like 2 x a), you usually take away the times sign and put the number by the letter (2a). This also works for two letters (like a x b = ab) or even multiplying more then two numbers/letters together (like a x b x 2 = 2ab). I don't know why people do this but I think it could be because you could have x as your letter and it would be confusing to write 2 x x so they shortened it to 2x or it's just because it is quicker. I don't know.
Thank you to scratch for existing. And to maths as well. And to awesome friends. :) Please tell me if there is anything wrong with this or if there is something that you don't understand.
