So beαutıful You're so..." --- Well. Well. WELL. Alright - lets talk about "So Beautiful" by DPR IAN (Christian Yu). I came across this song in one of @Honestea's projects. And I was instantly captivated by the Orchestral vibe the original song has. And the lyrics were - I'll be honest - somewhat confusing. ^^" (that is - only before I looked into the meaning) If you want to listen to the original song, it is in the "Sounds" tab of the backdrop :3 I loved how towards the end of the chorus, the music would get softer. Only for it to build up as a crescendo into an orchestral outburst and loop back to the whistle to begin the second verse. The lyrics had their own story! And the grammatical inversion in the line "So beautiful, you're so" really stood out! AND THE SAXOPHONE SOLO WAS :chef_kiss: If this song was a food - it would be most delicious UwU Idk if I did it justice with my measly guitar music and bad audio quality ;-; Also you may have noticed that I actually changed a bit of the lyrics. What in the original song was "A flawless ending" became "what a flawless ending?" in my cover. I originally sang it that way because it sounded cool, but I decided to keep it the same for the cover. The reason for it being the meaning of the song. So - after getting super obsessed with this song - I decided to check out the music video - only to get more confused at what was happening in there (BUT THE CINEMATOGRAPHY WAS AMAZING BOII) And then - I finally came across the Mito Documentary. Which had the singer explaining the meanings of all the songs in the album "Moodswings in This Order" - the album "So Beautiful" belonged to. After learning about the character "Mito" (a personification of IAN's alter ego) featured in the music video, I started to feel like the entire song was irony. As if IAN - in a way - was showing Mito's imperfection by presenting him to be unrealistically perfect. This idea came to me from the line "a flawless ending". *SONG ANALYSIS INCOMING* The word "flawless" itself is controversial, because it is the nature of the world for everything and anything to be flawed. NOTHING is flawless. I felt as if the singer was trying to use reverse psychology there - through pointing out how flawed the "ending" was by calling it flawless. The same idea came to me from the lyric "Look for me now, I'm not that (crazy)" (I didn't sing that part in the cover btw). I felt that once again the line contained irony. Mito is indeed an abnormal character with a mysterious past and dark personality, but that is what makes him so beautiful. The way he says "I'm not that crazy." made me feel like he was actually meaning to say "Yes, I'm crazy. But that's okay." - once again showing his imperfections. So I decided to emphasize the irony. By choosing to sing "What a flawless ending?" as if it was a sarcastic remark. (Idk if you can hear it well tho lol) Also I tried to keep the rainy ambience of the original song in my cover and artwork by adding rain and thunder effects to both  AND I also ended up realizing I used a slightly incorrect chord progression for the chorus but my index finger ached SO MUCH after playing the G minor barre guitar chord so I decided not to redo it :'D Did I ever mention that my fingers are very tiny? xD Also! The artwork you can see in the project was drawn on a tablet! >:D Not an art tablet tho :') So I used my OTHER index finger as the stylus once again. (Banana's fingers are real gamechangers lol) But the screen was much better than my tiny phone screen lmao. Btw I added the greyscale version of the artwork because the official music video is a combination of colour and greyscale UwU Anyways - that's it! I'll wind up the note ^^ Also Tea - by any chance, if you're reading this - thanks again for (indirectly) introducing me to Christian Yu's music >:D I hope you liked the cover <3 And now that I've brought it up - is a great artist and animator - go give her a follow! ^^ Thank you very much for viewing! I'll see you in my next project ^^ - ()
