my profile picture currently versus the one i just finished. space key to navigate. critiquing my own art. jsyk this is not a redraw. it's a self-portrait at two different times. PLEASE LEAVE FEEDBACK!! i need it. badly. old: drawn january 1, 2021. not much shadow on the hair, brows are atrocious, and so are the glasses. the eyes don't even have lashes, really. irises are too big. not much shading on the nose. the mouth should be a bit bigger for how round the face is. there is entirely too much brightness on the forehead. not enough shading on the face. pinky and ring fingers and thumb aren't showing up. no shading on the clothes. sweatshirt strings are too thin. shoulders are too narrow. anatomy and coloring and basically everything in general is out of whack. (and i thought this was the best drawing i could do...) new: drawn from mid-april to may 9, 2022. hand anatomy is so weird. too much shading on the chin thingy. none at all on the forehead. the glasses are weird, i wasn't sure how to draw them. i have these clear glasses, they're kinda big because they're men's glasses. i'm sure there's a LOT more wrong with this art but i'm still riding on that high of creating something i like. i like the shading on the hair, how there's some shine in the front and the ponytail is dark near the top and light near the bottom. shading on the face is much better. under-eye bags, dimples, cupid's bow, highlighter, and a little shine on the cheeks. i like the kinda protruding bones on the hand but they could have been executed so much better. i forgot sweatshirt strings but it doesn't matter the hand is blocking it anyway. i spent so much time on that hand but please critique away on things i could change. the third picture is the second one without the hand. the fourth picture is a blooper from creating the second one :) idk why but the second one makes me look like johnny depp for some reason, maybe the eyeliner lmao
