here is my super embarrassing band concert story because i had it today. (this is kind of a filler because I haven't posted in a very long time lol) Today (as of 5/10) was the day of our spring band concert. It was the first and last 6th grade one in person. We practiced for many months for it and prepared for it. As you may know, I play oboe in the band. Unfortunately I'm the only oboe in the whole concert so I don't have any others to rely on. That day I got into my band performance clothes and ran to the car. My dad said he already packed my oboe case in the car and we were all ready to go. My sister and I drove to the school where we were performing. Right as I stepped out of the car, I noticed something was a little off. I noticed it - my sister was carrying her music folder with her, but where was my music folder? It was at that point I realized that I fugued up. I left my music folder at home. I told my parents to quickly drive back home and grab the music folder from my backpack. It was 20 minutes until the band concert would start, and it took 20 minutes to go to and from my house to the school. I panicked as I knew I was screwed and my band teacher will kill me. If other people forgot their music, it would be fine because there is more than one of them and they could share. But I was the only oboe. I couldn't share music with anyone. Inside the bustling band room, people were already putting on their instruments. I told some classmates about my problem and they didn't know what to do. My band teacher just told me a few days ago that I had potential and that I could become a great musician, but now I literally forgot my music the day of the concert. He was going to be so mad. But then, when I thought all hope was lost, I realized something. The flutes have almost the same notes as me! I told one of the classmates and she said she would let me use her book/music because she is already sharing stands with another flute. Unfortunately, some of the notes are different. Another classmate let me borrow her pencil to write in the notes for oboe on the flute music. I frantically wrote down the notes and put an octave lower note just in case I couldn't read it clearly (most of the different notes were an octave lower than the flutes). My band teacher soon sent percussion in and made us walk down to the mpr where we should perform. When I entered the mpr feeling stupid as heck for forgetting my music, I saw my mom hand me my band folder. I was so relieved. Now I know this will never happen again because I will never forget to bring my music to a concert. (side story) also I HAD ONE FREAKING DAY TO GET USED TO NEW DIFFERENT REEDS THAT WERE SLIPPERY AND FLAT AND LOUD. THERE ARE 50 MILLION FLUTES BUT YOU CANNOT HEAR THEM AT ALL SO I HAD TO CARRY THE FLUTE SECTION FOR THE WHOLE CONCERT BECAUSE ALL YOU COULD HEAR WAS THE OBOE IN THE MELODY WHERE ONLY FLUTES AND OBOE WERE PLAYING. AT ONE POINT MY LIPS SLIPPED OFF MY REED AND I SCREWED UP AND EVERYONE HEARD ME BECAUSE IM SO LOUD BRUHHHHHHHH
