so i recently realized that if one desires to stay relevant, one must release new content regularly. and i honestly don't care about fame on scratch, but i want people to know i'm not dead lol arrow keys or space to navigate, click to zoom. my first ever art process! (my blockshade speed draw does not count.) here i go through various steps of my art process at various speeds. i use autodesk sketchbook for my art. i draw most things (unless i specify otherwise) with the pen tool, because it's easier to fill in shapes without too much unwanted texture. if any real artists have any better ideas, please share them with me. i hope you enjoy! full screen is cool if you wanna see details with the grittiest resolution :) 1. first slide is the finished product, just so you know what you're getting yourself into. 2. sketch. i don't do detailed sketches. this is more of a guide so i can work out proportions and stuff. and clearly it's not a very good guide, because the proportions are NOT right, especially in regards to the legs. but i'll end up "fixing" that later, as you'll see. notice the color palette in the upper left-hand corner. sometimes i make my color palettes ahead of time, and sometimes i just wing it. for this one i made the background first, and then i made a color palette based off of the background. 3. i always, ALWAYS start with the face, and in the face, i always, ALWAYS start with the eyes. basically what i do is i draw the eye shape with white. i then draw the iris and the pupil, and then i do some bright shading (?) with the airbrush in a lighter shade of the same color as the iris. for this particular one, i also used the airbrush in white to create a small circle, and then i used the pen in white to put a dot on top of that to make it really pop. i drew the eyebrows with the pencil tool for some texture. i also drew the eyeliner with the pencil tool, because the pen tool was just too thick. 4. i made the nose, and then i got bored, so i drew the clothes. i fixed the proportions a little bit, but i'll fix them more later. 5. i added a mouth, freckles, blush, and highlighter on the cheeks. i also fixed the eyes. previously, they were tilted inward, which is cute, but it wasn't what i was envisioning for this particular drawing. 6. hair base. 7. my process for doing hair: i scribble all over the hair with colors in the same color but various shades. then, i use the hair tool to kinda blend it in and also make it look like hair. i have to repeat all that a few times if i want it to look good. then, i use the airbrush in similar colors and draw lines in the texture of the hair. for example, this hair is supposed to be curly, so i'm going to draw spirally lines with the airbrush. 8. finished hair! also fixed leg proportions, sorta. i think the legs are too skinny, so i'm going to fix that next. also fixed the eyes. previously the irises were really oblong. now they're round, kinda big but whatever. it's not like it's realism *wipes away a single manly tear* 9. shading on clothes, "hands and feet," fixing legs a little bit except not really, now i'm done. credits: all art: me zooming in code: and (i couldn't understand the code lol i dont think i backpacked all the necessary scripts ;-;) music: serendipity - jimin
