Cranberry fell to the ground overcome with shaking he felt as if his mind was becoming overwhelmed with information. His mind flashed basic English writing the alphabet the sky trees these things all had names! He thought then was taken by surprise by his own mind. His breathing began to come in short shallow gasps he gripped his chest fur calming himself down. His mind began to race. Am probably not the only one like this. He thought and began to walk down his street. After walking for a few minutes he turned to the forest, his ears twitching with nervousness. Common sense told him the forest wasn’t the safest place to be in right now. He took a breath in and took a shaking step forward. Then was stopped by a flash of red fur running past him. He caught himself just in time. He jerked his head towards the thing that had come out of the forest. It had turned around gasping for air looking at him. He titled his head his new brain registered this creature as a fox. Their fur was a sunset orange color with black tips on her tail ears and feet. But they had a strange pattern of white triangles lining their back and white on their chest and upper face. It let out a breath and sighed with relief. And began to speak “I’ve been looking for other animals for hours!” Its voice filled with relief like a water balloon. Cranberry shakes his head quickly to make sure he wasn’t dreaming. “It happened to you too?” Cranberry asks, tilting his head. “Yeah it felt like doors in my mind were burst open and winds of information flew in” “Huh for me it was more like a flood” Cranberry says he thought for a moment before speaking. “What happened to us?” He asked the fox “I honestly have no idea while I was running towards town when I heard the birds speaking I think it happened to all the animals.” She replied, her gaze turning towards the sky, her eyes sparkled with worry. Cranberry decided it was a good idea to change the topic not wanting to worry the fox. “Uhm I-, what should I call you? I mean not just fox.” He said with a small laugh trying out humor he’d never made a joke before he felt a small bead of sweat roll down his forehead. What is this feeling? He thought looking down at his stomach and identified it as worry. He snapped back to reality as the fox replied. “Uhm I’ve never really had a name uhmmmm-” She looked at her paws, seeming to decide on a name. “Vine would be fine, how about you not just going to call you cat.” She joked, nudging him slightly and she seemed very comfortable socially. Cranberry looked down at his collar reading the name on it. “You can call me Cranberry.” He said with a nervous nod. “Well Cranberry, let's go find out what happened to us!” She said looking towards the larger part of town and running off without a second thought. Cranberry sighed this was going to be tiring. He thought he looked back towards his old house and shook off his fear and followed Vine.
