Thank you ^v^ -----------------------------------------------------------------As they trekked forward, through the meadow, with the lanterns glowing, it was beautiful, Aspen hadn’t even noticed how pretty everything in The Starry Meadow was until now. It had mostly gone silent between the two of them. /Hm, she seemed very talkative earlier, I wonder why she’s so quiet right now./ Aspen noticed, thinking to herself. ━━━━━━ The silence went on for a couple more minutes until finally, Aspen broke the silence. “So, tell me about yourself,” She started, trying to grab Reese’s attention. “Huh?” she raised her head, she looked like she was thinking hard about something. “Oh, sorry, I was just lost in thought, could you say that again?” “No problem!” Aspen said, knowing that she had gotten sidetracked quite a few times, so she understood. “I said tell me about yourself.” “Uh, it's not very interesting,” Reese said, pausing, as if she was waiting for her to respond. “Nah, I’m sure it is! Please tell me about it,” Aspen urged her to go on. “Well, my-” She began, but looked up again and exclaimed, “hey, look! We’re already at the crossroad signs.” “Oh yeah, you’re right,” Aspen sighed, she was really interested in knowing more about Reese’s life. /I guess we can sit down and exchange backstories another day./ Reese hopped happily over to the sign, waiting for Aspen to lead the way. /Well, now she’s back to being how she was when I met her, all happy. Weird./ “OK, now we need to go left,” she said, beckoning Reese to follow her. ━━━━━━ They walked through the forest with the dark purple trees, the silver flower blossoms sparkling under the glow lamps imbedded in the ground across the dirt path. “I’ve only just moved here, but I feel like I’ve lived here for years,” Reese sighed dreamily, looking as if she was lost in a world that no one lives in, except for her. “Yep, it’s home alright,” Aspen said, smiling. “Oh stars, did I say that out loud?” Reese said, looking a bit surprised. “That probably sounded really sappy.” “You did, but it’s OK, I completely get it, I’ve moved seven times in my life, and none of them have felt right until Whispers Hollow.” “I’m glad I bumped into you, I feel like this is the start of a good friendship,” she beamed. “Ditto,” Aspen said, starting to smile. “Ditto’s a funny word, isn’t it? You can’t even rhyme anything with it, unless you made a brand-new language dedicated to it, like: The Ditto Language. I know, not very creative.” Reese seemed like she could talk on and on for hours. “Betto you cannotto getto over to thatto tree before me!” Aspen said, grinning, and started to sprint over to a small willow tree on top of a hill. “Hey! No fair!” Reese yelled as she started racing her to the tree. ━━━━━━ Aspen got there first, and Reese got there second, out of breath. “How-” Reese gasped for air, “are you so fast-” “How are you so slow?” Aspen joked. “You started running way before me,” Reese protested, catching her breath. “Sure, sure,” Aspen shrugged. “come on, we should get a move on.” “OK, fine” Reese sighed, then muttered under her breath, “but you started it.” Aspen snorted, “I heard that!” “Well, it is true!” -----------------------------------------------------------------
