Name: Firefly Gender: Male Age: 14 Personality: Shy, flirty, haunted by his past but pretends everything is OK. A snippet of his backstory: Firefly's wings drooped after a long day of flying. He normally loved the thrill of swooping along the clouds, but he had done it too much lately. After the death of his father, Firefly had been forced to take on a job - and all he did, every day, was fly around delivering mail to the creatures of the forest in which he lived. It was alright, but nothing like the fun life he used to have. "Stop it." He told himself, feeling his thoughts slip into longing of when his family was whole. He missed his father. He also missed Moth, no matter how much they used to act like they hated each other. Clenching his paws, he saw that his claws had slid out, and he forced himself to think happy thoughts for the rest of the journey. Of course, forced happy thoughts are not that happy at all. When he finally reached his den, joy sparked inside of him, kindling a light, because he knew that his mother would be there. Ever since the fire had killed his father and sister, Firefly had begun to realize just what his mother meant to him. Diving down, he glided towards the den and walked in. "Firefly! Oh, my kitten, my precious little baby, how are you?" Firefly's mother fussed over him, licking his fur in greeting as he shook out his wings. "I'm good, mum." Ducking his head, Firefly grinned. "What's going on? You cooking something?" Blinking, his mother looked at him oddly. "Not yet. Why do you ask?" Instantly, Firefly's heart filled with terror. "But- mother? I smell smoke!" Widening her eyes, Firefly's mother sniffed, stiffening. "I smell it too. Firefly, you've got to run." Firefly nodded. "Come with me, I flew a route today and I know-" His mother cut him off. "No, hon. I'm going to figure out what's going on. I'll get water and try to stop it. But you /have/ to get safe, understand? It would end me to lose another family member." Dipping his head, Firefly spread his wings, too scared to disobey. "I'll see you soon," he whispered, watching his mother dash into the forest toward the smoke. "This is crazy," Firefly muttered to himself. "I'm not going to run away while she does that." Narrowing his eyes, he flew after her, a vague plan forming in his mind. music: fireflies by Owl CIty contest & design @Dta_Memory art: me base: also me
