The ext has to start here because it's too long XD here is where it starts: {Setting: Prosper City, 'All Eyes On the Page' Bookstore, Southeast District} Beryl: *creeps up behind his mother, who was walking in between the crowds in a hoodie, which looked very unlike her. He guessed she was trying to blend into the crowd instead of standing out like the model she was. But even he knew the face of his own mother. He followed her as they pushed through the crowds further and further* Ruby: ! *hears something and turns, but takes no notice of Beryl. It was almost as if he wasn't there. She pulled tighter on her hoodie, turned back, and continued walking* Beryl: *relaxes his heart rate, letting himself relax again. He checked his hand and, noticing that it was clear and see-through, let out a sigh of relief. He chose to remain invisible and follow her* Ruby: *stops at a crowded stand that was selling the first line of the books. two shelves were lined with two different books, on the opposite ends of a long table where people were distributing copies in exchange for money they carefully placed in chests. Beryl read the titles; "The Manor's Mark"--he recognized this one, it being Rylan's book, and "Of Monsters and Mysteries Vol. 4". The last one must have been Auburn's title. He watched his mom walk up to the stand, reveal a VIP badge and cut through the whole line* Typical mom. *his eyes soon widened as he noticed that she, much to his surprise, didn't go buy Auburn's book. She gave the cashier a few dollar bills, was handed a copy of "The Manor's Mark"(she quickly put this in her purse), and briskly walked off*
Beryl: *this time, he didn't follow her. He was so dumbfounded that he dropped his camouflage and lost his ability to blink. He continued to stare at the sale booth, unable to think about anything other than what he'd just seen. His parents haven't been able to say something nice to one another for a long time, so why did she pick his book? Wouldn't she just pick the other one and post it on her blog out of spite, like she usually does? Or maybe that conversation she and his father had a year ago changed something--* Rhondonite: There you are! *runs up, grabbing his arm. Veronis was in tow* Come on, let's meet back up with Dad and everyone else. *notices his gaze* Something bothering you? Beryl: *turns to her and looks straight into her eyes, wanting to tell her. But, as usual, he decided to not freak her out* N-nothing. Just saw some odd bird. Veronis: Well, the bird can wait. Let's go! *grabs Beryl's arm, to his annoyance at this point, and helps Rhondonite tug him back into the crowd*
