HAPPY 15 YEARS, SCRATCH!!!!!! You have been like another home for me for the 3-4 years that I have been on here (on different accounts), so I want to say thank you. Scroll down for my story about Scratch... Scratch began in 2002 as a small project for the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab. The following year, the project received funding from the National Science Foundation Grant. Then, 15 years ago in 2007, Scratch was officially released to the public. When it was first released to the public, there were only 845 users, 594 projects created, and 884 comments sent, which is very low compared to the very high statistic numbers that we have these days (see: scratch.mit.edu/statistics)! When I first joined Scratch 4 or 5 years ago, I never thought that I would get 43 amazing followers (so far), and so much support along my journey. During my time on this account I have released nearly 50 projects, favourited 330+ projects (lol), and received 43 amazing followers so far. Scratch has been basically been like another home for me during the mere 4-5 years that I've been on this amazing platform (on different accounts). Whenever I come onto this site (basically every single day), I have fun, I feel welcomed by all of the amazing users, and if I'm bored, I am immediately cured just by this website (there's millions of projects!). There's also the fun, sometimes challenging (in a good way) experience when coding a new project, which is always amazing. Because I love this website SO much, I made a genuine promise to myself to NEVER, EVER leave Scratch so I can continue to make many more amazing memories for my entire life. Scratch also began my severe obsession for coding. It also sparked an idea for a future job in my brain: a professional programmer. I also have a goal to (maybe?) work for the Scratch Team when I'm older. Now, I have a few last things to say: Thank You, Scratch Team and everyone involved in the creation of this platform. Happy 15th Birthday. I hope you will continue to be an amazing coding program for many years to come, so many more people like me will have the time of their lives on the amazing website that is Scratch. ~ @koalas_4_life :D
