Hello! Please read till the end! This was written in 2 parts the first during the first period and the 2nd last period-next day. My School has a GSP (gender support plan) and one of my friends recommended that I try it. If you don't know what a GSP is an explanation will be below. As of the time I'm writing this part of this story I haven't filled it out. I'm filling it out in 5th period with a school consular. My friend said they did it and were very happy with the results. I was going to do it when I started 8th grade but my friend said I should do it now. However, I didn't know how to request it. So... they did it for me. I got really scared. The next day I was called down to his office and he let me in, he said," So (deadname) what did you need?" Me being the highly anxious person I am was shaking in fear, I said," Uh my friend said something about our school GSP and I wanted to do it" he was very understanding and set up a date, which happens to be today... I'm scared. Now I'm a trans* demi-boy* I use he/they pronouns and a lot of people know that. My parents also know that but they say I shouldn't change my name or do anything drastic until I'm 18. But I say, whatever I am who I am. I'm very excited and scared about today. I will write more in fifth period. This is 1st oh geez... UPDATE!!!! It's 4th period and I'm super scared! I know I shouldn't be but I don't know what to expect. I've been thinking of what I'm going to say and that's making me 10x more worried. If you don't know I have bad anxiety where I take med$ every day so I'm really scared... AHHHHH I'M DONE!!!!! I just finished it! Honestly, I have a lot to say. First off the person who was helping me figure it out was very kind and helpful. When I left he used my preferred name pronouns. Now knowing this I could halfway predict what the questions were. Like the first one was gender/name/pronouns. Basic but then it was like who do you want to tell? I was confused because I didn't expect this also a safety plan. Definitions of things! GSP: A plan the Trans, nb, kids of other genders can go on to change their name in the school system. You answer a set of questions and they will get things changed. Trans: Transgender is a part of the LGBTQ+ community where someone identifies as the opposite $ex they were born as. Demi-boy: Someone who identifies with male and gender-non confirming.
