This is Warden. Warden was a vessel who anyone would find rather peculiar. The story format is based on events that happen in my HK headcanon (based on a friend's AU). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Abyss - As with all vessels, he hatches in the Abyss. He survives, does what you'd expect of a vessel, and made a singular friend with a vessel who was older. He learned something from this friend and held it in his mind as something he might be able to use; the ability to project emotions. Since Warden, at the time, had no name, he merely allowed himself to be called Friend. The other vessel is killed after a couple of years, along with his 3 other siblings, by a vessel who appeared to have gone mad. Warden merely heard about this, he had not witnessed it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Rising Lake - Survival got harder with the addition of Void Monsters roaming about, but this didn't matter too much for Warden. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Extinction/The Escape - The Hollow Knight is selected, and without the light the Shades become very dangerous. At this point, vessels were either escaping the Abyss through unknown means or dying. The majority died, but Warden left the Abyss and roamed about into Greenpath. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Second Bout - In Greenpath, he persisted for a long time before evetually being killed by the Massive Moss Charger. The MMC buried his corpse and Shade under the ground. His Shade never emerges from the ground. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Game - He's dead and buried, so he never appears ingame. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Revival - Ghost (you know, the main character) has killed the Radiance in Dream No More and become king. He proceeds to revive vessels in the Abyss and the vessel that died in Greenpath (Hornet's room). He does not find Warden. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Shade Lord - Ghost, being more powerful as Shade Lord, is going on a walk (we all need them). While roaming through Greenpath, he finally discovers Warden and brings him back alive. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Time has passed and eventually Warden is given the designation of the warden of the only high security prison in Hallownest. He uses projection to project madness, which causes bugs and vessels alike to experience an increase in madness. Sometimes, Warden roams about the kingdom out of boredom. Out here, he's more ethical and tries to be less monster-like. He learns of the concept of romance and love, hating it immediately. This hatred was furthered when meeting Salubra, who tried to flirt with him. He keeps bugs who are romantic toward each other in the prison apart, which also helps drive the madness further. People know about the madness of the High Prison, so most noone would actually do something to get them thrown in. However, there is a group of strange bugs who kill others just for the heck of it. Warden would loving nothing more than to put these fools away, but there are no witnesses or faces to go off. Odds are, he never will catch them. As for the mad vessel that killed his friend... He knows only one thing, a name. He would find this one, and he would seal her away into the prison, forcing her into the braindead stare that he believes she deserves.
