“RUN, KATE, RUN!” “I'M GOING AS FAST AS I CAN, CLARA!” Kate looked back at the other girl, her leg was cramped, but she seemed to be running at an average speed. But average wasn’t enough. Kate looked in front of herself again, “MMMMPH!” Kate stopped and turned around. Clara was engulfed by black tentacles. The first game was over. The last contestant in her Semi-sector had been caught. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [] CHAPTER I [] “Ms. Kate Shards, would you pay attention??? I bet you do not even know the answer to the question being displayed on the board.” The teacher glared at the black-haired girl. Well, her hair wasn't all black, some streaks were dark blue. “I know the answer, Ma’am.” The girl replied. All the teacher could give was another look, and then a reply “Why don't you answer it?” Kate got up, and walked over to the board, she wrote simple equations down and got the answer, the right one. “See? X is equal to -1.25” She said, and she then proceeded to walk back to her seat as the other students looked at her in awe, none of them had gotten it right. “Al- Alright then, class, let's get back to work.” Kate’s math class then proceeded to be her last, and longest period of the day. But, it didn't stop the rest of the day from coming through. ----------- “Kate, sweetie, do you have everything?” “Mhm, I have everything I need for the sleepover, ‘Ma.” Kate flung her make-shift backpack over her shoulder. ‘Sleepover time.’ —----------[] END OF CHAPTER I []-------------
