--READ ALL OF INSTRUCTIONS IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO USE IT IN A GAME-- -A new mechanic I'm planning to use in BTS 2 -Space to dash So how does it work?: Depending on which direction the sprite (player) is facing they will move 50 steps, wait 0.01 seconds (so you can see the dashing costume creating the quick dash effect), and move 50 more steps. This also works up and down. I was planning to add a cooldown, but I realized that player in BTS 2 won't use the dash as much because of all the obstacles you have to avoid. I'm planning to use this dash mechanic the same way how Celeste and Hollow Knight used it (mid-air dash to reach platforms, all that sick stuff). BTS 2 probably will be out in the fall of 2022, I just deciding to show you guys some stuff to keep you waiting.
