hiya so this is my art process lol,, I drew sailboat you've gotta trust it -- #1: sketch this was the rough idea of what i was going to do, I use a custom brush #2: sketch but w/ lower opacity #3: lineart I make a new layer and use the sketch as a guideline. i changed up the idea of the drawing, closed the eyes, and also changed the position a bit #4: get rid of sketch I either delete the sketch layer or hide it #5: flat colors I make a new layer under the lineart one and color grab from a reference for the coloring #6: designs i added some extra designing #7: tail if this were another character this step wouldn't be included, but I just add the tail design #8: fish fish #9-13: lighting so this is quite he process, I make a new clipping layer over the lineart and coloring folder, and color it in all black. I then change the layer to overlay and lower the opacity. after that i use a yellowish orange and color in the lighting spots, then blur it! #14-15: shading I make another clipping layer and use my chalky brush to shade with a dark purple. I then lower the opacity and put the layer as multiply. #16: filter for this it's just another clipping layer colored in a saturated blue, and I made the layer soft light. #17: extra lighting another clipping layer of bright yellow on add, lower opacity #18: final product I cropped the image and that's it<3 -- i hope that that was helpful for whoever needed it lol -- art/character: @elfetree --
