Did you know you can help the environment by simply doing what you usually do? This game details how. 1) Go to Chrome Web Store (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions) 2) Download a charitable search engine. Ecosia.org plants trees, Ekoru cleans the oceans and plants coral reefs, OceanHero has a search that is almost as good as Google's, OCG donates all of its profits to clean the ocean, and YouCare has a lot of different charities you can choose, including clean water, coral reefs, and meals to animals in shelters. (Ekoru 60%, Ecosia 80%, OceanHero 50% YouCare 60%, OCG 100% to the planet). 3) Download OpenTabs from the Chrome web store. OpenTabs changes your new tab page to show ads. OpenTabs uses the money earned from the ads to save a tree for every 3, 4, or 5 tabs you open. 4) Download TreeClicks, if you shop. I When you do, if you ever shop at certain stores, a small portion of the money you pay plants trees at zero extra cost to you. THAT'S IT! Now you can help the environment by searching for Wikipedia articles, or whatever you may be doing.
@Focaj, of course, and I would like to shout out to OpenTabs for all the awesome work they do. Read their description on the Chrome web store carefully - they have an amazing argument for why SAVING trees is better than PLANTING them. Note-the settings icon on OpenTabs opens a screen that allows you to choose what search engine is used in the search bar ( NOT the address bar ) so remember to choose Ecosia from the options if you use that bar often. Also, Ecosia is already installed in the Chrome browser, just go to settings and select it from the list of search engines as your default.
