Backstory. She was born and named shinekit but after geting attacked by a badger and losing half her ear, her cruel father insisted on changing her name to halfkit. The leader back then did not like that applewhisker(halfmoons father) wanted to change her name to halfkit but applewhisker was deputy and a few of his close friend agreed with him. So at that Plumstar(leader back then) had to change the name. He said this, "shinekit, step forward. For the last few days it has been very scary for you, but you have stayed strong. But you father and a few of his friends have insisted on changing your name. I am sorry but this does not change your heart in anyway but it may get some getting used to. Shinepaw from this day forward until you have passed your apprentice days and become a warrior you will be known as Halfkit." He looked at Shine.. I mean halfkit with sympathy in his eyes. Halfkits eyes fulled with tears and ran into the nursery. Shyfall(her mother) ran after her to comfort her sad daughter. Halfkit later on became an apprentice as halfpaw and only a few moons into her training her father died(still deputy) quailwind became the new deputy then. When halfpaw was turning 12 moons old and had finished her assessment and passed it, Plumstar decided instead of naming her halfear like applewhisker wanted he would choose a much kinder name. "........... from this day forward you will be known as Halfmoon" (idk how the proper worrior ceremony goes srry) plumstar said at her warrior ceremony. Halfmoons eyes fulled with joy at how her leader had changed her could name, halfpaw to such a wonderful name, halfmoon. Few moons later plumstar died calmly in his den asleep. In the morning quailwind was so sad yet so happy she was leader. After being halfmoons best friend and after watching her go through what her father had put her through she decided that halfmoon would be a wonderfull deputy and an awsome leader when it is her time to take charge. Halfmoon then became deputy of iceclan.
