1. First, type True or False whether you want Gobi. 2. You can move the player with WASD. (But you need a map first.) 3. Push the space bar. This will stop Gobi. It will ask you what X coordinate you want. Then, it will ask you the Y coordinate. The limit is 1-8 for both, so that's as far as you can take it. (It will show up but impossible to get to.) You start on 8,8 and the bottom is 1,1 so you'll figure it out. You can place more blocks by pressing the space bar again. 4. Enjoy your own Isometric world!
Isometric games, or Orthographic projections, are ways of making a 3d game without the struggle of actually making a 3d game. If you want, you can see the video I used for inspiration on Youtube, Jordan West's video on Isometric coordinates and the math behind it. I also used Griffpatch's tutorial on sprite layering. I wouldn't have been able to make this without those two resources.
