While Tubbo waited for the picture, he decided that he’d grab some photo film and chocolate from the shop in the city. “Hi. How can I help you?” the shopkeeper asked once Tubbo entered. “I um… I’m looking for photo film and chocolate.” Tubbo stuttered. “Photo film? I haven’t had somebody ask for that since 1982.” the man said, grabbing the items. “Oh?” The man, Phil as his name tag read, came back. “Yeah. It’s sure been a while. He was a nice guy.” Tubbo frowned. “Wait, was?” Phil nodded solemnly. “Poor soul. Only lived to 18. He died in July of 1982 of a sickness that wiped out the area around him.” Tubbo inhaled sharply and quickly paid for the items before exiting. “RAN!” he yelled, bursting into the house. The chalk floating by the board flew up before dropping to the ground. Wow Tubs, I was scared for a second. Ranboo wrote, picking up his chalk again. Tubbo aggressively grabbed the telephone and waited. “Is something up? What happened?” Ranboo asked. “Ran, do you know Phil?’ There was a moment of silence before he replied, “Yes. Why?” Tubbo began to pace. “I met him today. He said that no one had bought photo film there since 1982. That’s where you are right?” “Yeah. I bought some a few days ago so I could keep sending pictures. Oh, that reminds me! I was going to send you pictures when our Fourth of July festival happens!” Tubbo felt as if he was going to puke. “Ran, now it’s my turn to ask. Are you sick?” Ranboo stifled a cough that echoed into the speaker as a choking sound. “...Tubbo, it’s nothing to worry about.” “I knew it! You are sick!” He was about to keep going about how he’d found out but then, Tubbo stopped himself. “Ran, why didn’t you want me to help you?” “It’s not that… I just didn’t want to get you concerned.” “Ranboo, that’s not the point. We have medicine here that could help you. Why didn’t you just ask?” Ranboo sighed. “You know… there’s a reason why flowers from 1982 wouldn’t last that long. Everything has to go eventually.”
Yup yet again it's a "Flowers From 1970" song induced chapter I'm not being held at *nerf*point while writing this First: Previous: Next:
