Hey guys, Serenity here So Basically my sister's getting married this June Crazy, right? We're all trying to get ready for the wedding, so I'm basically just going on a month-long HIATUS. I tried to get as much done as possible, and I won't be able to share my animation entry for the beautiful winged cat until July, which'll be cutting it close *nervous laugh*. And yeah Oh and by the way I finished writing a 210-paged book, yay! hErE iS a pReViEw & iNfO: So this story takes place in the world of Endowed where dragons find their passion and get a magical gift based on this passion-- called a passiongift, along with their wings. Fog (main character, told from first person) is an orphan after an explosion at the Cloud metropolis that killed many dragons. She and Jay (her friend) are getting shared visions and after watching their reflections in a cavern created by the explosion, they realize they have wings, and have had them for a while. They finally get a vision about the Darkling (villain of the story) who is so depressed and angry that darkness filled her up until she turned all of Endowed into darkness. On their quest to stop the Darkling, they find Darkened, a charming Smoke thief. The three of them have joined magic, and keep getting visited by two spirit-dragons: Ink and Illusion, who are more connected to them than they thought. The stinkin description says it's too long to put in a preview chapter, so I'll put in as many previews as it'll let me. First Preview: (Darkling's point of view, near end of the book) “Fog is unharmed at all times. If she’s harmed, the deal’s off- let it be a tiny scratch,” Jay demands. “Deal,” I extend my talon with a wicked smile. “Count on it.” “Count on what, Fog being harmed?” Tro mutters. “You’ll never know,” I shake my head, then gaze at my talons. Jay shakes it, then Tro. “Good. Follow me, then, we’re off to the lower metropolises,” I say. That plan worked well. I levitate Fog’s tube beside me and place it in the darkening storm. She’ll be safe. Probably. I fly off, the sound of Fog’s breathing fading from the distance. If she’s harmed, I’ll just kill her. They’ll join me then. I know they will. Dragons will do anything when you know how to get to them. Second preview from Fog's point of view during one of her epic visions: “Yes,” he growls impatiently. “But I learned that the Darkling is a dragon, not just an evil shadow creature.” “The Dark-“ Oh yay, more visions. Jay’s eyes widen and he grabs my arm. Why? I realize that I can see him watching the vision as well. “Please!” Ink screams, thrashing on the ground. “You have no idea! No idea!” “What, that you killed our friend?” he snorts. Ink stops thrashing, and she looks up coldly at Illusion. She slams a talon into the ground and shadows like ink seep into the ground. Ink grabs Illusion’s arm. The ink starts climbing her. Illusion lets out a scream. He turns, but he’s too late. The shadows are reaching her skull. “You’ll become like me,” Ink snarls. “You’ll see and understand.” “I’ll never be like you,” Illusion screams. A black dragon with unnatural scars crashes into Illusion, throwing her off Ink. The black ink fades slowly off her. Ink smiles up at the black dragon. “It has happened,” she breathes. “I suppose it will come true. But you have a power that can be used for good or for evil. I’ll make sure you use it in the way I intend it to- in the way it should be used.” He snarls down at her. “You’ll go back to your hole with the Darkling.” Ink laughs before vanishing into the ground. Illusion breathes heavily. “You have to do it,” the dark blue dragon breathes. “We’re in danger while she knows who we are.” “How can we change how we act?” Illusion asks helplessly. And then everything explodes. Third Preview: (During Fog's journey to Aeterna) But it’s not a vision. My talons are my own. I swim upwards, but the light isn’t there. My lungs are screaming. The pain burns like fire. “Reflections are mirror images,” a silky voice murmurs to me. I see my reflection—underwater? Reflection? What?—appear besides me. She beckons for me to follow her. “One mimics the other.” She strokes downward, to the bottom of the water. My sense of direction flips. “Dragons mistake reflections for being controlled by themselves.” I see light. My lungs burn. I need air. “They are wrong. While a reflection mimics, it shows your genuine intentions, your mistakes and your truths. It shows everything you don’t know and nothing you do. It is the truth, it is the lies. It is what you tell yourself. It is eternal.” I burst through the water, droplets splattering on a cavern floor. That's all for now!! I'm trying to get it published :D The title is called GIFTED: Unnatural Have a good day/night!
