Note: Sorry for some of the bad grammer this story was very last minute and I rushed I hope that's fine! My story- The girl passed the town hall sobbing. Her cries escaped her throat involuntarily. She walked for hours. She had to escape. Escape the townsfolk who averted their gazes after looking at her, escape the kids who had made fun of her and her mother, escape the shouts, screams and torments. She had to escape it all. After walking until her breath became hoarse she finally allowed herself to look up from the ground, still all she saw around her were bland houses and dry grassland. She needed a rest, she thought. She slowly approached a small crooked shed and staggered in. She was immediately greeted by the stinging smell of dust. The girl slumped down on an itchy bale of hay. The dry grass dug into her face, triggering a flashback. She stood by a burning fire, the acrid scent of ash and oil filling her nose. The heat of the raging fire trapped her in choking her as sounds of pain forced out her mouth. Her mother walked past her. Their gaze lingering on each other for only a second. The woman whose eyes had always been bright, lively and cheerful were now dark and dull. Yet her face showed so much pain. It was the most hurt the girl had ever seen in her life. If her mother’s pain came from leaving her daughter behind or from dying the girl was not sure. How could people call her mother a witch and sentence her to death when the emotions of sadness, hopelessness and desperation playing out on her mothers face were so human? The girl did not want to think of what came next. The girl replayed the horrible moment over and over in her head. Before she could stop herself she was once again weeping softly and then not so softly. She cried until there was no sadness in her. She felt utterly alone and numb, not sure if she would ever feel anything again. Then something else filled her body and took over her mind, Rage. Then as if her legs worked on their own she was out of the shed and walking again. This time back towards the town. She would go to the source of evil and eradicate it, she thought. I will teach them. Teach them all. Slowly her rage consumed her building up until she was no longer like a human.
Apologies for the last minute entry I am not sure if my entry is late or not but either way thank you for holding the contest!
