Here's a little backstory: Brillo lived in a small grove next to a small river that supplied food and water for everyone in the grove. His parents were pretty strict, they never let him leave the grove. Brillo didn't mind, though. His best friend, Mala, always had something fun in mind to do. They spent a lot of time together, and Brillo always admired her sweet, likable nature. They got into lots of (fun) trouble together! Over time Mala's parents got more and more protective of her, not letting her meet with Brillo as often. They thought he made a bad impression on Mala. At this time the grove was filling up with more and more cats. Mala's parents decided it was better to just leave. Brillo and Mala were devastated. "Mala, please. You can stay with our family, right?" Brillo begged. "Brill, I can't." Mala replied. "You know I can't." She started to cry. "Mala, you need to listen to yourself sometimes instead of your parents." Brillo spat. "You want to stay, I know it." "Stop, Brillo. I have to listen to them." "No you don't, just stay! They are the bad ones for making you stay." Brillo insisted. "Brillo, DROP IT. I'm leaving," Mala said. She turned and started walking away. Brillo blocked her path. "Mala.. Mala, please, I can't-" he started. "SHUT UP! SHUT UP, BRILLO!" Mala cried. "This is not my fault that I'm leaving. I'm sorry, okay? Goodbye, Brillo." Brillo stood there for a second, frozen. He opened his mouth to say "sorry", but Mala was already on the other side of the clearing. Laughing. Her tears gone. Then Brillo saw him. A handsome, strong cat talking to Mala. Making her laugh. Brillo never found out who that was. There's still something inside him that wants to be mad at Mala, but an even bigger something is saying, "why did she leave me for somebody else?" (hhhh it's not the exact lyrics but whatever :'] )
