Basic Instructions- Click text boxes to go to the next text box/end conversation. Arrow keys to move. Press A near an NPC to talk to them. Starting at the beginning, we have your introduction to the world of pokemon. The name you choose for yourself and rival do not matter very much, however for the gender part, you must put in either male or female, otherwise the game will not have any sprites to use. But as I said, this will only impact your in-game character, so you are welcome to not put your real-life gender. Now that you are done with the beginning text, your next objective is to head to your new work, formerly a pokemon gym, and get your first six pokemon from him. Now you have unlocked the option to teleport to different legendary maps to catch legendaries. Remember- you must have Alakazam in your party to use Teleport, since it is the only pokemon in this game that gets the move Teleport. You can head to the pokemon center and talk to the PC to change out your pokemon by clicking on a pokemon in your box. If your box has more than 30 pokemon in it, then press the n key to go to the next box. From the second box you can press n to go to the third box, but from there you must press the b key to exit the PC. Battling System The battling system in this game is much changed from the main series pokemon games, though the changes merely make the system less complicated and easier to code. The first change is typings. Every pokemon now has one type that is used when determining super effective, neutral, and not very effective hits. The second change is accuracy. All moves have 100% accuracy. The third change is abilities. They no longer exist. The fourth change is movesets. Unlike the main games, pokemon in Pokemon Legend Hunter are stuck with their same moves forever. The fifth change is levels. There aren't any. All pokemon are technically level 100. The sixth change is stats. Special and Physical moves are no longer a thing, and neither are specific stats. The player's pokemon will always outspeed the opponent, and the legendary and used pokemon have a set base health for all pokemon in those categories. A pokemon's damage is determined using the base power of the move being used as well as the power of the pokemon. The seventh change is in-battle items. They have been removed. In fact, all items have been removed. The eight and final change is that if a wild pokemon faints, it can still be caught. However, it's HP cannot be lowered further. Menu- Codify and Enter Code: These two can only be used in a Pokemon Center, to avoid glitches. The purpose of codify is for you to be able to easily bring pokemon from this game to another save file of this game easily. These codes sadly cannot be used in Pokemon Journey to bring pokemon in that game to that game. That option will be available after the release of Pokemon Vault later. All instructions for how to use the code system should be explained in-game. Options: At this point in time, there are 4 things you can do from the options screen. Turn music on and off, change the music volume, change the song played, and change your shiny odds. For the shiny odds, enter the number that you want the shiny odds to be. For example, if you want the odds to be 1 in 100, then enter 100. For the volume component, press the v button and then drag the slider to the volume you want the music to be. Then click somewhere else on the stage to signify that you are done with changing the volume. Pokemon Party: This should be moderately self-explanatory. You can see your pokemon, as well as click Teleport if you have an Alakazam in your party to find a legendary pokemon. Pokedex: Once again, pretty self-explanatory. It shows the legendaries you have caught and legendaries you have yet to catch using green/red highlighting. Mystery Gift: Pretty much the most self explanatory of them all. You enter a currently working code to get a mystery gift pokemon. If you have an open slot in your party, it gets added to your party. Otherwise it gets added to your boxes. If you recieve a gift and then tal kto the president, the pokemon already in your party will be transferred to your boxes and be replaced with your new team given to you by the president. There is currently one mystery gift working: JUDGMENT
WARNING: THE SAVE FILE SYSTEM IS BUGGED. I AM CURRENTLY LOOKING INTO THE ISSUE. IN THE MEANTIME, IT WOULD BE WISE TO AVOID THIS MECHANIC. If you find any bugs/glitches/overpowered exploits, please say so in the comments. And yes, I already know about the glitches you can do with the movement of the character and glitching out of bounds. I couldn't find anything that I could do about it without drastically lowering the running speed, which I at least thought wasn't worth it. A quick note- All save file loading and saving is coming in a later update. I wish I could add it now, but there's probably going to be hundreds of bugs discovered in this game within the first few days of it's sharing, whether by me or others who play it. Therefore, since major parts of the game may change, I do not wish to include using save file saving/loading at this time. Update History: July 3, 2022: Shared!
