She loved to surf, but surfboards were too expensive at that time, so she took to body surfing. Bloom was a natural learner, and in a matter of minutes, she could float on the waves almost perfectly. Each day Bloom went further and further away from the shore, until one day on another swimming trip, she noticed something glinting a small depth beneath the water's surface, and, although Bloom could swim very well, she was afraid of going underwater. But her curiosity pulsed through her like a restless ocean current, so she sucked in her breath and plunged downward into the sandy saltwater. After a few seconds Bloom started to feel sand beneath her and dug away at the shiny object. Bloom's chest and throat hurt from holding her breath, but she continued digging until she was able to grasp the object between her paws. It was a crystal, blue and pink, and glowing fiercely. A minute later a flashing ribbon of light enveloped her, and she awoke to find her tail had been transformed into that of a fish's, and she could breathe underwater. From that day on Bloom loved being underwater. she continued to swim farther and farther away, but she didn't know that soon her love of water would become a problem. One day Bloom stepped into the green-blue ocean water, and started swimming. Farther and farther she went, until she lost direction and suddenly realized she had swam into the middle of nowhere. Before Bloom could even start swimming back, a huge whirlpool broke out like lightning, and sucked Bloom inside its raging waters. Her heart pounded, and her eyes went wide with terror. A split second later, an incredibly strong current seemed to pull Bloom closer to the eye of the whirlpool, and then, she suddenly disappeared under the surface. Bloom could see countless fish and other creatures, as well as debris, and even small trees. She suddenly spotted a plastic bag in the midst of the large whirlpool and with a great deal of force, pulled it out of the racing water, and managed to tie it around her waist after managing to come up from under the water, and she could float better the next time she got sucked under. Fortunately, though, she didn't get caught in the bag because it had a hole in it that helped it loosen, but didn't let any water in. She had just finished this thought when an enormous piece of glass scraped against her paw, making a giant cut where the material had hit. Bloom shrieked in pain, and was just about to pass out from fear, when a colossal black shape emerged from the whirlpool. It was long, had three glowing eyes, and four stalks topped with glowing ovals stood on top of and on the side of its face. It roared, and with such force that it seemed to cause an earthquake for a second. Bloom was suddenly paralyzed with fear, and her eyes got locked with the three glowing eyes of the mysterious sea monster. Just then she noticed a small town on a faraway shore. Using a great amount of strength, she yelled out in her loudest and most earsplitting voice. She yelled so loudly her throat burned, she was temporarily unable to make any sound, and her arms and legs gave out. Before she could recover her voice, she unwarily started to sink, down, down, deep into the rushing whirlpool. Her eyes were heavy, and strange spots blurred her vision. A few minutes later she could hear muffled roaring noises, a large commotion, and then everything went black. Hours later, her eyes flew open, and she rapidly blinked sand out. "Is she okay? is the cut still bleeding?," She heard other cats call out. "Just leave for now! You shouldn't be crowding her.," A particularly young-sounding voice said. Bloom looked up. A cat with light blue fur, a large, pink, heart-shaped crystal necktie, one crystal eye, and a tail made of puffed crystal. The large multicolored crystals tied to her back sparkled like stars. She assumed that this cat was nine years old, from her voice and size. After everyone else had left, the younger cat helped bloom sit up on she shore. Bloom looked up at the other cat. She looked at bloom with a deep worried expression. "Are...are you okay?
