That evening, Gem was sitting peacefully in the library, researching her new origin - a fox. Earlier that day, she had been testing out her new abilities. She had discovered - as well as being able to turn invisible when she crouched down - she also could punch things a lot harder (this did not go so well for a nearby cow). She had chosen a new outfit for her fox origin. Her villager friends had helped her make it and they all agreed it was very fitting for a fox. Now, she was researching the history and abilities of her origin. She absent-mindedly took a bite of an apple. Her expression soured. She spat the piece of apple out and threw the apple away. “Note to self: foxes are carnivorous.” she muttered to herself before returning to her reading. Her search for information was unfruitful however. She could not find a single book in her village’s library about her origin even though she looked until night fell. “I’m sorry, sweetie, but I really have to close the library now. I don't want to risk zombies coming in here. That would be a disaster and we really can’t have that, now can we?” the librarian said, resting her hand on the door handle. Gem sighed. She picked up one last book from the shelf. “Okay. I should be getting home by now anyway. Thank you for your help.” she said, “I’ll take this book out to read at home, if that’s okay with you.” “Of course, sweetie. Just make sure you have it back here by next week.” the librarian said, taking a note of the book on a bit of paper on her desk. “Thank you. I’ll be going now.” she said as she walked out the door. “Thanks again for your time!” she shouted back as she ran backwards down the cobbled path, waving.
