Thornstar interrupted her with a laugh, licking her cheek and causing her heart to explode into feathers and fuzz and warmth. Even after all these moons he could still make her blush and swoon. Nightshade laughed shyly, looking at the ground as he spoke. “Well, you didn’t. Now, you should probably be setting up your den in the Nursery, shouldn’t you?” Nightshade pouted, lifting her chin back up to look at the tom that dwarfed her so. “I’d like to spend at least one more night with you. I’m afraid it’ll be awfully lonely all by myself in there.” She saw hesitation flash in his eyes before his shoulders relaxed, and Nightshade knew she had won. “Well, alright. But this will be the last night. I want you as close to the Medicine Den as possible.” Nightshade giggled lightly, running her nose along Thornstar’s jaw as he rested his tail over her shoulders, gently leading her to the den. “Then you should put me in the Elders or Apprentices' den.” She teased lightly, naming the two dens bordering Heronfeather’s home and watching a smile pull at Thornstar’s mouth. “But then their creaking bones and late night gossiping might keep you up.” He poked back, eyes sparkling as they disappeared inside. Nightshade’s heart was glowing with love as another was breaking.
