Rumors were spread at the beginning of the year about the amount of homework he gives and how strict he is. Over the past year, I have come to learn this is not true and that he is an amazing teacher. Unfortunately, some people still held a grudge. On Wednesday, June 8, one girl from my grade decided to take her hate to the next level. No motive has been officially confirmed, but people say she was angry because Mr. Hashimoto gave her a bad grade, or she got detention. Anyways, while the science teacher wasn't looking/had left the room, this girl to hand sanitizer/soap and poured it in Mr. Hashimoto's classroom fish tank, instantly k1!!1ng 13/14 fish. The remaining fish passed away the next morning. The mo!derer also wrote "F U" in Mr. Hashimoto's yearbook. The girl was suspended for her actions, but school let out for the summer on Friday, June 10, so the punishment was not very severe. We are hopeful that more serious actions will be taken to rightly punish the middle schooler for her cruel actions. In the meantime, several amazing students have created a go-fund-me page to help Mr. Hashimoto refill his fish tank and compensate for his losses.
