Use your Doggie Detector to find doggies by following the sound. It'll flash when you're right on top of one. Click the circus tent on the map to play a shooting minigame to win bones. Royal Bones make rare doggies more likely to appear than common doggies. Even Bones give all doggies the same chance to appear regardless of rarity. Recalibrate resets your detector if you're having trouble. You MUST recalibrate after throwing a bone for the bone to take affect! You can cheat by using the up and down arrow keys to unlock (or relock) levels. M to mute music, N to unmute.
This was going to be the third installment of my Find the Dog series. It was originally planned to be a big sequel with about 50 unique dogs to find, lore, interesting levels. But I never ended up finishing it. I sometimes think about this game since it's just been rotting in My Stuff for 2 years now, so I decided to share it. It's super unpolished, there's a lot of placeholder stuff, the tutorial is bare bones (pun perhaps intended) and the Professor has way more dialogue explaining the mechanics and sprites conveying her personality than shown here, the same 6 dogs appear in every level because I never got further than concept art for the other dogs and don't have fully finished art of them to import, I did draft Doggiepedia entries for all 50 doggies even though I haven't coded any of it to appear in-game. However, I believe the basic gameplay loop is there (find each of the 6 different dogs to unlock the next area, repeat), the minigame seems to work and from checking the variables I think the bone system does work too. If anyone wants to remix this to add their own sprites or do whatever they want with this, feel free. Sorry my code is a mess. Inspired by Find the Cow, though I also took a little inspiration from Pokemon Snap and the Plants Vs Zombies almanac.
