I need to share this because it's been bugging me for a small while. As in since I became a Kirby fan (when KATFL was announced). I just need to say this, Toby Fox is a huge Kirby fan. Or maybe just a huge Nintendo fan and gets the majority of inspiration from Kirby. Probably both. Let's start with Flowey. He could be inspired by Magolor and Marx. Both seem nice and friendly and want to help you, just to get what they want to become GOD!!! (I hope you know what I'm referring to there. If not, watch TerminalMontage's Animation for Kirby Super Star.) Marx tells you to get the power from the planets surrounding Popstar to summon Nova to stop the sun and moon from fighting, but steals the wish to become GOD!!! In Magolor's case, he has you repair the Lor Starcutter to go back to his planet to defeat Landia. But, after doing so, he steals Landia's control crown to become GOD!!! Get where I'm going? Next up is [Clown Around Town]. Jevil was inspired by Marx and Dimentio from Super Paper Mario. How do you ask? Simple. UEE HEE HEE! CHAOS, CHAOS! CLOWN, CLOWN! Ok, but seriously, they're all clowns. Also, people like making clowns the hardest boss in their game and make them darn close to GOD!!! Also, Dimentio liked to take control of Luigi and keep people imprisoned, similar to how Jevil is the only one that is free from his prison. Finally, Marx (who I keep on almost spelling as Mark) met someone to become more powerful, just like how Jevil met someone to become more powerful (in a way). Now, I've seen tons of videos about attacks that were based off of attacks from other games, but NOBODY has even THOUGHT about Asriel's Chaos Saber attack (which I just started thinking about...). Have any of them ever played Kirby's Return To Dream Land or at least, I dunno, WATCHED THE FINAL BOSS??? One of it's attacks are TWO GIANT SWORDS SLASHING AT KIRBY AND HIS FRIENDS!!! And (theory time) he does that attack after Kirby finishes regular Magolor with the Ultra Sword. Perhaps Asriel (In Deltarune) had to fight somebody who attacks with Chaos Saber(s). Also, (someone besides me actually found these, congrats world) Tasque Manager's Correct sprite is a reference to KDL3 and one of Spamton Neo's unused attacks is literally the Nova boss fight. Also, if you don't believe that Toby and Nintendo are working together with tons of things, press the spacebar to see a pokemon card I got recently. Look familiar? Next, if you press k, you can hear a clip from THE WORLD REVOLVING followed by Kirby's Triumphant Return, and then Kirby's triumphant return but sped up. If you want to hear just TWR and then KTR sped up, press j. Sound alike? Rouxls Kaard (at least the first few notes) sound like this too. Also, a few songs in Undertale (Like Dating Start and Shop) sound like a few songs in Kirby Block Ball. The saxophone solo in the KRBAY theme song (at least the beginning of it) sounds a lot like a part of the ghost fight songs. Finally, this one isn't Kirby related, but Big Shot sounds a lot like Metallic Madness Present from the Sonic CD. Also, Ralsei is supposed to be a fluffy boi while Kirby is a puffy boi. Just wanted to throw that out there. I mean, yeah, there are tons of references to OTHER Nintendo (and non-Nintendo) games as well including Legend of Zelda's Rupee, Mario (in tons of ways), Metroid through the bikini ending (though scrapped), FF through Gaster and other things, Earthbound in many ways, Punch-Out through Queen, Star Fox through Berdly, and tons of others. But I've found more references to Kirby than anything else (besides Earthbound). From what I can tell, Toby's three favorite video game series are Earthbound, Pokemon, and Kirby. What, you weren't expecting Pokemon? Why else would he be (from what I can tell) in charge of making the main themes of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and make the Battle Tower theme in SwSh (which is one of my favorite Pokemon songs)?
