BLOTW (Bible Lesson Of The Week) ७ Suggested by @PEPKitty Week #1 Proverbs 21:13 (NKJV) "Whoever shuts his ears to the cry of the poor Will also cry himself and not be heard." The Lord is merciful, He wants you to be more like Him. Have you ever heard of the saying, "treat people the way you wanted to be treated?" This is what this verse is saying, don't ignore the cries of the poor, for your cries will also be ignored. ............................... Week #2 1 John 4:4 (NKJV) "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." When you receive Jesus, He is in you, sin is no longer your master. When people try to deceive you; tell you to do something against God, "oh, no-one will know," or "it's just something small, no-one will get hurt," 'He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.' This also applies to those talking against you and those who bully you. ............................... Week #3 Matthew 7:3-5 (NKJV) And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. - - - We usually point out someone else's sin (like myself), while not realizing our own sins. Sometimes, to someone else I would be like, you have to spend time with the Lord, as I criticize someone else, I myself didn't spend time with the Lord. explains it well : ............................... Week John 15:18, 19 (NKJV) “ 'If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you." - - - Follow God (reminding myself too to be honest). If friends, kids at school or someone laughs at you and makes fun of you, ignore them. Give thanks to God that you were made fun of because you were brave enough to show others you belong to Jesus. And know that when Jesus was on Earth, His own people did things far worse than mocking Him. ............................... Week Proverbs 21:23 (NKJV) "Whoever guards his mouth and tongue Keeps his soul from troubles." ............................... Week Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) 'Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." ' - - - This was the Bible verse of the day on biblegateway.com Reminded me of the presence of the Lord, He is with us always and can help us with everything. He makes the impossible possible, so we shouldn't be afraid! ............................... Week Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) "I can do all things through [a]Christ who strengthens me." - - - Sorry for missing a week's BLOTW! Does something seem hard? Though you and I are never able to do it, Christ can! Ask Him and believe His word, He will make the impossible possible! You can suggest a verse for the next Bible lesson!
