Anxiety. I have seen so many people say they have it. The thing is... not everyone has anxiety. You are right in the sense that we all have stress. That's natural. But anxiety is a clinically diagnosed mental illness. And as someone who is diagnosed with it, I get kinda upset when people say they have it just because they get nervous. Stress is when you get nervous because you are doing something new, usually, you soon calm down afterwards. Anxiety is when you get stressed so much that your mind stops you from doing things you would otherwise do. It's basically that alarm in your head telling you not to do stupid things, except, my alarm is broken and goes off all the time. Also, stress goes away. You can become calm and relaxed, anxiety does not. Anxiety is always there and never has a pause. So please, stop saying you have anxiety if you don't. Learn the difference and respect what others go through.
Thank you to my Therapist and Health teacher for sharing the difference with me and telling me to tell others the difference.
