I have no time. The story is in the Instructions below. | | | Part 1- https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/676751355/ Part 2- Anger boils hot in me. Like a raging fire spreading through a field full of nothing but dry grains of wheat, like a steaming pot about to overflow. Now I may have not liked the monk, but murder? That was uncalled for! As much as I hated the culling, there was no excuse to murder a man just doing his job! I don’t know what the situation was, but I still don’t understand how someone could do this! Two guards run to the monk and bend over him. Crowds push in for a better look as nobody notices the two men sending up billows of dust and leaving a trail of shining crystals of blood. I glare at the back of their heads. If no one is going to do something? Then I will. At this point, a crowd has formed. I look around the circle of buildings surrounding the stage. I can’t go through the crowd. But I can go around it. I run backward to the wall of a building and maneuver my way along the edge of the town circle. I rub against the cracked walls as I am pushed more and more into it by people gathering around the monk. Where did all these people come from? I make my way to the dark shaded alley and race down it. I jump over cracked wood and shattered glass and slow down as I approach the corner at the end of the alley. I press against the wall and crane my neck listening to the sound of voices. “Come on! Just chose already!” one says. A younger voice. Incredibly young and awfully familiar... I peek around the corner then stumble slightly shuffling dust and blowing the skirt of my dress. “Shhhh. Someone's there!” “Hurry put the knife away!” My breath speeds as my chest lifts heavily in tune. Up and down to the beat of my racing heart; like drums beating to my anxiety. My brow creases and sweat drips down the bridge of my nose as I hear soft footsteps approaching me. I put a slight bend in my shaking knees then jump around the corner prepared to be attacked. “Thomas!?” “Meg?” A surprised and scared look falls across his face. “W-what are you doing here?” my brother wears a dark tattered robe that brushes across a belt of weapon. It mimics what the boy behind him wears. His stance widens as he becomes more and more afraid. “You know her?” The other boy asks. A grimace of disgust washes over my face as his dark eyes glint over me. He’s studying me. Suddenly the boys face darkens as he stares at something behind me. My brother goes from scared to terrified. Suddenly the other boy makes a run for it, shoving the knife into my brothers hands then bolting away. What is going on? I turn to see a large shadow growing bigger and bigger against the darkened alley wall. I back up to my brother and silently stare at him. As if asking him what he has done. He doesn't return my stare but instead grabs a blade from his belt and shoves it into my hands. His answer to my stare. Prepare to fight. I lift the blade mimicking my brother's stance as he lifts his own dripping red blade. When suddenly the figure turns the corner. It is the woman from the stage! Only she now stands with a vicious red coat sprawled on her. Similar to her vicious smile. “So. You’re the killers” She glances at the knife in my hand. “Not good ones obviously” She inches closely to us reaching into her coat and grabbing something unseen. “You know... We have a problem, we don’t have our two selected... and since killing the monk is a crime punishable by death... I might as well just pick you two.” She pulls out her own knife, skillfully twirling it around in her fingers waiting for a response. I glance at my brother, both confused and terrified. His same terrified eyes stare back at me as suddenly 3 guards reveal themselves from the shadows of the alleyway. They stalk up to me and my brother and grab us. I get kneed in the stomach sending the air from my lungs as I get shoved into the dirt. I hear moans of pain as my brother I forced into the same position. The woman crouches down to us whispering so only me and my brother can hear, “Are you ready to die?” Story by me!
