2k dmc｜✿｜space/click to advance! after 3+ years of being on this website, i'm at 2k. thank you all so much for everything, it's definitely been a journey, and naturally you all are to thank for this. thank you. also an announcement, I got artfight this year! my user there is yatsuyaki, so things may be watermarked with that in the future! (i'm on team wither) so here's a dmc! i've been wanting to host one for a while so here we go: contest desc: Draw Saean or Amarante, or both, like I did. Creative freedom is encouraged, go ahead and draw them in any outfit you like ^^ doesn't have to match the theme of the clothing i've shown, I'd love to see unique ideas/concepts! [when I say it I mean it, modern/cyberpunk/high fantasy idc do whatever you want, it's not like i'm consistent so I won't force you to be the refsheet and redered piece outfits r literally different] different hairstyle is ok 2 but for that i'd just prefer you keep their bangs, though I don't really care [and perhaps general length of hair,,] just make sure they're still recognizable [eg. if you don't like drawing long hair I won't stop you from shortening it] tldr; use the given character as a base for traits like face, eyes, hair color, but other than that as long as I can recognize them it's fine rules: 1. givens, no stealing, be nice, etc. 2. no bases/gacha 3. no genderbending / species changing 4. keep recognizability 5. If I didn't say no it's yes but feel free to confirm anyway in the comments i'll be here Prizes: 3rd: bust/portrait, full render, simple bk + 1 week shoutout 2nd: waist/thigh, full render, simple bk + 2 week shoutout 1st: fully rendered concept art/painting of choice + 1 month shoutout + follow if not already [prize pool may increase if more people enter] [there will be honorable mentions from 4-10 in no order] [for the first place prize, anything you want, as long as it's not ridiculous or innapropriate (aka. no more than 2 characters, I don't draw cats, and it has to be sfw) but yeah] due date: sept. 8 (extended due to number of people who seem to need extensions) Character Bio: Lysathae Avis Saean [his name is pronounced saien] 5’6” | male | 1215 (years old) | Nov. 12 | The head of the Lysathae family, the family that protects Merinius as its stalwart defense. He took over the position after overthrowing his little brother a 100-200 years back, after he had been sealed for a long time. While he sits on the throne, in reality, he and his brother rule together. He outwardly carries quite a flamboyant, cheerful, and carefree attitude, giving alot of people the impression that's he's irresponsible which is only partially true. Despite his age, he resembles younger lords, not showing his age in any obvious way [aka he can be a bit immature], as he also doesn't age physically. despite that outward attitude, he really cares about people, and recognizes his responsibility towards them, and doesn't really think he matters in any conceivable way. He's really kind. It should also be mentioned he doesn't have any self-control in terms of magic, he's tied for first place with Amarante. he wields a double-ended spear most of the time, though it can take any shape he wants. It's made of a fire that burns white-hot. Amarante [not her real name] | 5’2” | Female | 1810 (years old) | Sept. 2 | An incredibly old mage who's been around since the beginning of the true era of mages, considered an ancient superpower. She was well-regarded as the strongest for a long time, and therefore leads most of the ancient powers. Due to her extroadinary strength and ability (she has infinite magic) people, not knowing even her false name, often called her a god, so she's often known as the one they call god. She has a gentle, soft, but logical and matured personality, and despite her soft voice and impression the words she speak can be quite harsh. Her face rarely shows emotion. She always acts for good of the people over herself, and cares about them alot, like Saean, but is less irrational when it comes to them. She thinks realistically, unlike Saean, who often wants everyone to be happy even when it's entirely impossible. in magic, she ties for with Saean. she usually uses water and healing magic, and has infinite magic endurance. her actual name is not amarante, it's an adopted one. [ extra, but Saean and Amarante are best friends (and potential lovers) so that's why i've drawn them together here] late note: by ethnicity, ama looks japanese. saean looks mixed (idk,,, korean/european something?) character backstory (in depth) here : saean- ama - (it's still abridged but you can't put put like 30,000 words or more in a scratch project) thank you so much, + extra for reading the desc! i have a terrible bad habit of making them unreadably long but i need to vent somewhere
