Her father was a banished mage from the Council, so he sold wares and trinkets he conjured with his magic for food. Annika's mother wanted nothing to do with her father or her after the incident. Her father tried his best to provide for her when no one would want her. When she was about five, he started to teach her some magic so she could help out. Years later, Annika learned about dark magic, something her father refused to tell her. Late one night, while her father was sleeping, she snuck into the town they were staying at. (Annika, being the soft-hearted gal she is, left a note so he wouldn't worry). Later that day, a raid party strode through town. Everything was left in a blaze, including the library. She got out safely, but couldn't find her father. When she went back to the tent in a panic, she found a note left by her father. "Sweetie" it started. "if you're reading this, they've captured me. Don't worry, being an ex-council member, they wouldn't execute me for my "crimes" right away. As much as you probably want to, you can't come get me. I'll be fine. I need you to go to the Forbidden Waterfall and retrieve the Book of Hidden Crystals before the Council does. It's one of the reasons I was exiled. When you find it, you're free to use the spells. So with that in mind I scrapped the earlier drawing bc 1) it was awful and 2) I forgot what I planned to do with it. :| She is a bean tho
