This ship has gizmos and gadgets far beyond the understanding of the cats onboard. This high-tech ship sails along the water, collecting data that is vital to understand the changing ecosystem. –↞☀- Ship Design + Important Information -☀↠– From the outside, this small white boat isn’t much to behold. Built for purpose rather than aesthetics, the exterior of the boat is slick and simple, with “Blackwater” written along the side in standard black lettering. Research equipment is kept in tightly sealed containers on the deck and in the cargo hold. Nets are strewn across the deck, ready to be used when the Twolegs need to catch and release native fish. Despite these features, the deck is fairly barren, and the Twolegs tend to usher cats indoors if they catch them outside. Where the ship gets interesting is the interior. Inside the ship, they have a small lab where all of their research is conducted. Here there are tanks of rare captive fish, with instruments monitoring both them and the water the boat travels through. Twolegs carefully watch these areas to prevent damage to either the fish or the equipment. If a cat is caught messing with either they will be locked in the quarters of a crewmate for at least one irl day, and they will be carefully watched during future visits to the lab. Though the fish are hard to acquire, kittypet food and toys are left out for the cats in the cargo hold, in an attempt to lure them away from the equipment kept in the lab. –—————↞☀- Crew -☀↠–————— –{ Captain }– Captain Evelyn Conor! This red-headed spitfire of a Captain is one of the shorter twolegs on the ship, and her quarters are decorated with mess and bright colors. Should one be confined to her room, they will be allowed to sleep on soft blankets but will be subject to the loud music and intense scents that the Captain seems to enjoy. –{ Crewmates }– Doctor Basil Périgord. This dark-eyed scientist is quite a worrier, perhaps because he expected that his workload would be far less upon taking this job. He is trained in veterinary sciences, human medicine, and marine biology and is considered to be the person in charge of medical emergencies on the ship. Should one be confined to his quarters, they would be fretted over and likely not be allowed to leave his sight, though the accommodations he provides are quite enjoyable, with actual cat beds and treats given in relative abundance. Doctor Uri Sastre. This olive-skinned biologist is in charge of the fish on the ship, and in charge of research gathered on the fish. They are a marine biologist and consider the fish to be very important to them. If confined to their quarters, they are the least generous with accommodations. Perhaps this is because you tried to eat their fish? They keep a careful eye on the cats confined there, and the only real benefit to being in their room is the fact that they provide much tastier food than the kittypet food left in the cargo hold. Doctor Beatrice Zappa. This curly-haired oceanographer is in charge of research gathered on the effects of the recent ecological disasters on marine ecosystems. She is often seen interacting with the odd equipment. Should one be confined to her quarters, they will quickly realize that this person has a desire to keep everything extremely neat, with everything kept in its space. She provides toys for the cats to entertain themselves, but keeps careful track of them to make sure they aren’t messing up the room. Elio Zappa. This green-eyed biology student is the younger brother of Doctor Beatrice Zappa, with a very different attitude. His job is doing just about anything the other crewmates ask him to do. Despite his frightening workload, he is the most generous of the twolegs on board. He provides soft blankets, cat beds, toys, and relative freedom to do as they wish. The food he provides isn’t the best, though not from lack of trying, and he is affectionate with the cats, which may be startling to those who don’t have kittypet experiences.
–—————↞☀- Feline NPCs -☀↠—————— Ambrose - This warrior-aged black and white tom is quite extroverted and friendly, belonging to Elio Zappa. His eyes are yellow and his fur is short. Tardigrade - This old she-cat has a thick dilute ginger coat that is graying towards her muzzle. She is friendly but sluggish, expected for a cat over one hundred moons old. She belongs to Doctor Basil Périgord. Seagull & Sprite - These two cats are joined at the hip, and are almost never separated. While together, these cats use he/him to refer to him as a whole. When referring to either cat individually, Seagull uses ae/aer and Sprite uses they/them. Seagull is a dilute calico cat with short fur and bright blue eyes, and Sprite is a large gray tabby with yellow eyes. Both cats are nice, if a bit reclusive. He belongs to Captain Evelyn Conor. –—————↞☀- Other -☀↠–————— To attempt to catch a fish, comment below! There are two difficulties, trying to catch a common fish on the deck (1d6 will be rolled, anything above a two will succeed), and trying to catch a rare fish in the lab (1d20 will be rolled, you need above a twelve or above to succeed!). Should you succeed, I’ll give you a list of fish to choose from! Should you fail, I’ll roll another die to see what quarters your character will be confined to, and, if you fail the hard difficulty by more than 4, a -1 will be added to any future rolls from the lab as the crew will pay closer attention to your character when you enter. As the Blackwater provides toys for the cats, you can feel free to ask for one. 1d6 will be rolled, and anything above a one will mean your character receives a toy ^^ Linking RP Project here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/709358482
