Janus is not the type to break your trust and believes others should do the same. Once you get close to her, the feline is determined to stick by your side. Because of Jan’s strong sense of loyalty, another breaking her trust is devastating. The small she-kit will most likely not talk to those who do, making it quite difficult for one to regain her trust. However, though it is a demanding process, it can be done. [+] Bright . This cheerful little kitty is sure to brighten your day. Spending all afternoon in the forest finding and crafting the best gift for you illustrates the effort Janus puts into her relationships. The small feline’s bubbly personality stretches out to others, as she is an amiable cat. The perky she-kit demonstrates both sides of the word ‘bright,’ as Janus learns pretty quickly. The intelligent molly researches plants and is extremely diligent with her studies. [+] Humorous . The more Janus knows you, the easier it is for her to make you laugh. The short feline loves to see others smile, making it all the better when she causes such a reaction. Because of this, Jan finds it easy to try and make the best of situations, sometimes making a joke to do so. The less she knows about you, the harder and more vague Janus’s jokes get as she fears she will offend you in some way; Jan gets uncertain and draws back. [=] Genuine . If another breaking her trust is so devastating, the small she-kit wouldn’t dare to cause such a dreadful feeling. You can trust that Janus won’t lie: her words are what she means. This might mean that you won't like what you hear, but it leaves plenty of room for you to improve. Her sincerity is always present, and she is someone to look for when in need of advice. [=] Stubborn . Janus knows what she wants; she will not hesitate to do what it takes to reach her goals and exert her full potential. This also means that it is difficult to convince her to change her mind-- this can go both ways depending on what the goal is. The she-kit may also get stuck on petty things, which isn’t very helpful. Jan is also stubborn to help others, however, which allows for her big heart to reach out even when they don’t think they need help- the small feline can tell when they do. [=] Energetic . This little ball of energy is always up for an adventure. With a love for mystery, even a small hint at a treasure hunt means a full-on operation. Jan’s enthusiasm can be contagious as well, leading her to bring others into her excitement. The amount of energy the small feline possesses can be a bit much at times, however, making it difficult to calm her down. At any point in the day, unless asleep, Janus will be up for playing. [=] Loquacious . Along with always being ready to play, Jan will not stop talking if she knows you well. The small she-kit’s brain is full of random thoughts and comments that are bursting at the seams, waiting to be shared. Some may find this annoying, while others don’t mind it. However, if Jan doesn’t know you very well, she won’t talk much due to her fear of saying something out of place. [=] Inquisitive . The world is full of unknowns, and Janus longs to understand it all. If she doesn’t know what something is, the small feline will not hesitate to research or ask questions. This happens quite often when looking for trinket materials; items will intrigue Jan through wonderful shapes, sizes, and colors. Janus’s curiosity, though, can get out of hand when nothing answers her long-awaited questions, and she can get impatient at times. [-] Indecisive . Janus can /not/ make decisions for the life of her. Options overwhelm the she-kit, and Jan’s FOMO does not help. She scrutinizes every aspect of the options presented, even if the outcome doesn’t matter much. Jan can get distracted in doing so, leading to long stretches of time dedicated to stress and overthinking. The small feline is afraid of being left out, so when having to make decisions she generally gravitates toward others’ choices.
[-] Overthinker . Falling hand in hand with Jan’s Indecisive trait, the short molly overthinks almost everything she does. From talking and people skills to gifts and planning, every decision Janus makes is a difficult one. When someone doesn’t respond to a letter fast enough, the she-kit’s mind will start to wander to all of the possibilities-- had she said something wrong? Did the cat no longer want to be her friend? Only to find out the return letter had been stuck in transport. Jan also tends to overthink her abilities; with so many skilled cats out there, looking back at her own work only brings disappointment. Admiration for others conveys inspiration while chipping away at your ego. [-] Takes things to heart . Janus trusts others and their words, meaning that if someone says something negative about the kit, she will always remember the comment when completing the action or thought process again. The fact that Jan overthinks most everything inclines her to soak up these comments. Though the positive comments are greatly appreciated by the molly, the negative ones always surface from the back of Jan’s mind to haunt her forever. [Side trait] Dexterous . Janus loves to make little trinkets with whatever she finds. Whether it’s a leaf or string, Jan will find something to make out of it-- such as a bookmark. The short she-kit is then pleased to offer some of these items to those she cares about and thinks would enjoy her creations. The small molly is also fond of keeping the ones she finds sentimental to herself. Jan has developed a small collection of such items. -ˋˏ ❁ [[ Design ]] ⫶ I love Janus and her design very much, and do not feel the need to change anything <33 ⫶ -ˋˏ ❁ [[ Research ]] Munchkin Legs | The Munchkin cat breed is considered rather young, as it was only officially introduced in 1991, and it is not yet fully understood how the mutations affect the cat’s health. The genetic mutation that causes the short-legged trait is called achondroplasia (also known as dwarfism); it is caused by cartilage not forming into bone at a young age. This genetic disorder can cause more than just shorter limbs and an enlarged head, such as a curved spine, undersized jaw, thick-looking joints, etc. Munchkin cats are also at a higher risk of developing osteoarthritis and joint problems. Although it is commonly thought that Munchkin cats can’t jump, they can, in fact, jump. The height of these jumps depends on the length of the cat's leg-- every cat is different, and some may choose not to jump. Furthermore, the shortened legs don’t hinder the ability to land on their feet when falling or the speed of a Munchkin cat either. These abilities are seen in many Munchkin cats {video evidence exists}, though the cats sporting more painful arthritis may have more difficulty completing these actions. Munchkin - Limb Deformity - UFAW Can Munchkin Cats Jump? - Munchkin Cat Guide Munchkin | International Cat Care (icatcare.org) Curled Ears | Curled ears in cats result in a narrow ear canal, which can lead to ear wax build-up, and if not cleaned correctly, infection. Because of the altered shape of the ear, cleaning it as a cat normally would is difficult, so they may need assistance. The ear itself is also fragile because of the cartilage deformation and will need to be handled carefully. Other than the ones listed, curled ears don’t cause many health problems in cats. This doesn’t mean, however, that cats with shortened tails remain healthy throughout their whole lives-- they can suffer from feline-wide health issues. Although cats with shortened tails don’t suffer any breed-specific health issues, cats with no tails altogether may suffer from spinal health problems. This doesn’t seem to affect the cat’s personality, however, as they are very playful and can act almost dog-like.
