--------- Oliver nervously zipped up his jacket. Jake had just called him, asking if he could meet him at the beach. This wasn't normal for Jake. He normally planned things way ahead of time. Grabbing his boots, he ran downstairs. "Mom! Dad! I'll be out with Jake for a bit!" "Alright! Be back in two hours though! Dinner's fish and rice - your favorite!" his mom replied. Oliver licked his lips thinking about it then opened the door. "Thanks mom!" he yelled. Running to the car, he opened the door and started the engine. It started with a rumble and he backed out of the driveway. - 6 minutes later - Oliver came out of the car, locking it behind him. There were only two cars in the parking lot - his and Jake's. It wasn't surprising since it was 9 pm. After looking around, Oliver found a faint glow behind a hill. 'Oh hey that must be Jake' he thought. He ran up to the hill of sand, trying to push down the worry in his stomach. Then he turned the corner "Oh my-" There were candles and flower petals scattered everywhere. In the middle of it all was Jake, holding a bouquet of flowers and sitting on a blanket. Jake turned red and stood up, walking towards Oliver. Oliver was too stunned to move. "I've liked you for a while and uhm-" "Yes-?" Oliver couldn't breathe. "I-i like you-" Oliver recovered his senses and stepped forward. "Took you long enough."
