Amarante | 5’2” | Female | 1810 | Sept. 2, 92 | Hanatochiean She was born into a commoner family that was not well off, so when they saw her white eyes, comparing it with the stories of great power that had been associated with strange children, they thought they had gotten lucky, and named her Amatsuko, They raised her well, and loved her alot. More took notice of her talent, and many wanted to adopt her, make use of her power, but she always refused, because she loved her parents, but she did leave home at age 10 to study at an esteemed academy, from which she graduated from. From there, only 18 years old, she traveled the islands that were her homeland, still going back to take care of her parents occasionally. During this time, she met Hanasaku: another holder of great power, a flowering blade. They became friends over their similarities. She took care of her parents till their last, but the simple fact that they aged and she didn't meant that this would always have happnened. after that, with no real connections to her place of birth, she left across the sea to Reitanus, a magic central of the world, where the strongest lived. She wandered there, seeking out others like her and Hanasaku, who by this time had come to be known simply as "superpowers." She met many superpowers there, fought some, and always won, creating stories of extraodinary strength, due to her endless stream of magic. Some commented she was like a god, and since few knew even the fake name she went by in those days, Amarante, many simply called her "god." She eventually decided to settle, in central Reitanus at the base of a mountain. For her strength, her wisdom, her connections, many came to see her. She would always help break disputes and keep the peace, as her peaceful nature made it natural for her to desire resolution to conflict. Because so many superpowers gathered there, she eventually formed a society around her house- a place for superpowers to gather, make descisions, meet others, and settle disputes. Amarante was the natural king and judge. Over the years, she solved many disputes, but nothing ever changed. She could solve problems, but not the root cause: the greedy selfish beings who viewed themselves as gods, what the superpowers had become. In a world where many kings had forgotten about the value of their own citizens, the ceased to become leaders and became dictators. Superpowers had once spurred on human development, but now they were destroying it. She called the superpowers together and told them to give up their ways of life. It was difficult, but they ought to go into hiding and remove their presence from the world so humans could grow without overbearing gods dictating their fate. Their descendants would carry on thier lineage, and the constant wars born from petty disputes would stop. The superpowers needed to dissapear for the sake of the ordinary man- they, as the "gods" of this world, could not give the people anything they needed- the power they held was destructive. Many agreed with her words, and most all the central powers backed her on it. Others, who were just scared of their power, submitted out of fear, but there was naturally a group that opposed her idea. Their reasons varied, but there was only one notable person within that group that they naturally followed: Hanasaku, Amarante's best friend. He knew it was for the better, and knew it had to go through, but at heart, he was a warrior who lived on the fight, who lived on pride and honor. He knew if he submitted, he would be going against his pride, and if he stopped fighting, as one who was only really alive in the fight, he would die but be unable to pass on. because of this, he challenged Amarante to a duel that he knew he would lose. He said that he, too, would dissapear, because someone like him could only find peace in death. He asked her to grant his final wish- to die fighting as opposed to live in death. Naturally, he lost, but Amarante couldn't kill him. She refused him, and he stabbed himself, saying the stakes of the duel were one's life, driven by his pride and his honor. Amarante couldn't accept this easily, and tried to heal him, but he fended off her hand with his dying sword, and died there that day. Amarante followed through, and with Hanasaku's death, the remaining opposition backed down and superpowers dissapeared from the world over the next 100 years, coming to be known later as the ancient powers.
(cont) Unknowingly, she had missed a single ancient power- Lysathae Mynethius' firstborn, Saean, who had been sealed before Mynethius himself disspeared. She had never thought much of him, though Mynethius had once told her the child seemed more talented than himself. She thought he was joking at the time, but took interest in him after he one-sidedly and single-handedly took over the Lysathae family. After running it up with Mynethius, he confirmed his son was possibly stronger than him, so she summoned him to her place and told him he was ancient power, with intent to test his strength. She didn't have to ask: he wanted to fight her, and while she won, she could've easily lost. She could've died. It made no sense- no son had ever been stronger, but Saean had something his father didn't. She, knowing his personality, and also knowing that most didn't think of him as an ancient power, just asked him not to get directly involved in fighting wars, to which he obliged. Later on, Saean visited her in a particular incident, and after that, they saw each other more often and became friends, Saean visiting her often. They became best friends, and his presence helped her put the past behind her. It was always refreshing to see him, eager and young. aaand i have longer version of this too CAN YOU BELIEVE IT i'm too far into this ahahahah once again, if you have questions ask since i'm not the greastest at explaining, haha
