Ahem. So. This started as a different album entirely, where I would instead post music inspired by 90s videogame soundtracks. But I had a new idea for an album I wanted to make, and I knew I wanted it to be my first, so here we are. It's a weird mix. I wrote the song names first, and I decided I wanted them to be named after colors. Then I made music based on the words I picked. Some of them turned out not the way I expected, but that's not a bad thing. For a first album, I consider it a banger. Let's talk about the songs one by one: BLUE GUY- very jazzy, at first it was gonna be more sad, kinda like the first few seconds of MAGENTA & ROSEPINK but way more toned down compared to its current sound in terms of volume and complexity RED HYPOTHERMIA- first song I made for this album, arguably the one I put the least thought into. it's actually way more put together than the rest of this album lol YELLOW SICKNESS- was gonna sound more like the second half, but then I accidentally made a nice melody and wanted to include it. this one came out pretty nice HYPNO-TRIGGER- i already knew I wanted something fast paced, but i came up with the "no drums" idea within the first few seconds of making it. if you hear something that sounds like drums, that's because I heavily pitched percussion instruments rather than using the actual drum MIDIs. overall not bad, ig MAGENTA & ROSEPINK- the only rock song in this album if you don't count YELLOW SICKNESS. again, this is one where i made a thing opposite to what i was expecting and kept it. my personal favorite, although i wish it was longer COLORFUL CITY- yeah this one was gonna have vocals, clearly that didn't happen; no idea how to write lyrics to a beat lol. i actually really like how the art came out, and despite being kind of linear, i feel like there's enough going on to make it just as unique PURPLE TRAVESTY- wow what is this? i was trying to follow in the weird footsteps of RED HYPOTHERMIA and HYPNO-TRIGGER by making something cool pixel sounding and also bending my knowledge of music. what i got was a really good song. Note that between this and the other songs, i'd made plenty of new songs that slowly improved my technique, so it may be of higher quality for that reason BUBBLE TEA- focused on vibes, designed around the idea of bubbles more than tea, but I feel like the high speed aspect covers that; around the middle, it becomes more piano and I think that's cool none of the characters depicted have names at the moment don't try to find lore. you won't.
