The ranks of the cats in the clans are a bit different than if they were in the place and time of the books. There is lots of changes to the system. Kits Kits stay in the nursery with their mothers until they are six moons, when they become six moons old, they will choose the path of life that they want to go down. Apprentices There are four types of apprentices, there are fighter apprentices, hunter apprentices, medicine apprentices, and trading apprentices. Although, some very special cats will be able to do all of them, ex. The kit chooses fighter app. But then they hurt their leg and they are now a trader app. Warriors There are four types of warriors, the hunters, fighters, traders, and medicine cats. They are all true to their name, the traders have to undergo harsh training to be able to do their duties alone. Hunters and fighters are just like warriors, and healers. Sometimes the leader will take on a apprentice, the apprentice will learn a bit of everything, like the leader already knows. Traders Traders are cats who go around to the other clans on twoleg boats, they usually have something that they carry all their items in. The traders will usually leave for about a week to trade with the other clans, they usually trade food, supplies, or just cool things that they find. Healers / medicine cats The healers are just medicine cats, they collect herbs and sometimes traders will trade for herbs and give the herbs to medicine cats. There can only be 3 medicine cats at the same time, usually there is one apprentice and one medicine cat but sometimes there are more medicine cats. Fighters / Hunters Fighters and hunters are practically the same as warriors, they just separated the duties more so they can be more efficient. Fighters, as you can tell by the name, their job is to fight. They are very educated in battle and in some basic knowledge of herbs. Hunters, as you can tell, hunt for their clans, they have some basic knowledge of herbs and medicine. Not too much though, because they want to be the best at fighting/ hunting so medicine shouldn’t take too much time. Deputy/ leaders So there are two deputies and one leader, a leader has to go to the middle island where gatherings are held to be granted their 9 lives. The two deputies will move up a rank and choose a new second in command deputy if the leader is to pass away. Leaders and deputies are educated in everything, although they usually have a strong suite from before they became deputy/leader that might help them or hurt them. Prefix & suffixes You will still get a new suffix every time you move up the ranks, except for somecat becoming deputy, then you do not get a new suffix. A kit’s suffix will be“kit” so they can immediately know that they are a kit. The apprentices suffix is paw(s) sometimes, they have an S at the end of the name for a bit of diversity. Hunters, fighters, medicine cats, and traders, all have a random suffix. I will be making a project of all the possible suffixes so make sure to check it out! Leaders have the suffix “star” that they gain along with their nine lives. Deputies names do not change when they are elected deputy but they do when they are a leader. When any at retires, they will get a different title, like if a trader who was named Shallowpaddle retired, they would get a title like “The trader who wanders through the sea” or something else like that. They will keep both names but be buried ( when they pass) with their second title like “The hunter who whispers to the leaves” not their first like “Autumnwhisper” that will be marked on the unseen part of the grave.
