I'm gonna include more info abt these characters hereee- without directing you to their pdb personality pages haha ~ 1. Xian Liying he/him just a disclaimer that in china [and japan, I think?] surnames come first- so this character's name isn't "Xian", it's "Liying", although I call him "Li" for short. Li is at heart a sweet person, having the habit of putting others' needs above his own until it could be almost considered unhealthy. He can be viewed as random, and he tends to answer past questions a long time after, when it's forgotten, and at the weirdest moments. [example: [x]: well, then what are you doing later? li: wait, I've got it!! i like hugs a lot because it makes me feel loved!! [x]: I'm sorry what] Although Li really does try to help, the advice he gives is not usually appreciated, and when the things he suggests aren't used, this leads him into a spiral of overthinking, and so he's usually anxious about not actually being loved, thinking that everyone's just lying to him to make him feel better. 2. Ming Qinghua she/her Qing is overall a pretty laid-back person and has a slightly aloof and off-putting vibe, which causes quite a few people to keep their distance from her. She’s not really unfriendly, she usually just doesn’t know how to deal with people/talk to them, so she just stares at them and discreetly imagines the infinite possibilities of stuff that could go wrong. When she manages to talk to a person, she can be awkward, and this usually causes that person to give her space, since… well, it’s awkward. Her mindset towards new people is usually negative as well. [example: "hm, I haven't had many interactions with this person. they could be trying to manipulate me, maybe they're lying to me, maybe..." etc.] she's pretty withdrawn because of this mindset. anyways- Qing cares very much about the people who she allows to get close to her, and although she doesn’t know how to express this well, she’ll try to show it by giving them gifts she’s made, such as little things that she’s sketched and a flower that she found pretty, stuff like that. Her thought train is extremely random. Insanely random. Her search history would probably look something like this: “- cat pictures - cat memes - can you knit with cat hairs - can you sew things with human hair - composition of hair - facts about hares - how far can rabbits jump - how many people remember the quadratic formula after middle school" Her worst habit is definitely procrastination. She has the capacity, intelligence, and time to do her work, but she'll just find other things more interesting and forget about her work. wonderful. She spends much of her free time theorizing about things, and enjoys puzzles and stuff like that, it's interesting and fun to figure out concepts and piece together things for her. [my friend added more info about xiao qing in her own words:] qing is a very introverted and "keep to herself" kind of person. socialization doesn't come easily to her, so she mostly avoids the endeavor altogether. she's pretty pessimistic and automatically assumes the worst in people (bc of trauma ?? idk). qing can be extremely awkward when attempting to create a conversation with her (lmao like me). she has ADHD, and it doesn't take much to stay on one task for long periods of time, without remembering other priorities [ex: going down a Wikipedia rabbit hole from the origins of studio ghibli to reading how to deliver a baby chick] taking care of herself?? lmao what's that?? qing forgets to perform basic self-help tasks such as staying hydrated, eating at least 2 times a day, etc. qing has little to no self-love, constantly wishing she was more than what she is. she wants to be smarter, stronger, less sensitive, and more socially aware, but she cannot for the life of her figure out why she can't be those things. she's extremely intelligent but uses her intellect in the worst ways possible. procrastination has been a loyal friend, as she manages to procrastinate everything. [ex: almost failing a class bc she didn't do any work for it. qing: uhh?? why am i failing?? i know all the material and do well on the tests?? teacher: yeah but you haven't done a siNGLE ASSIGNMENT] info abt their dynamic: - childhood best friends to lovers bcs i stan that trope [dw i have a lot of platonic friendships in my ocs too. they are actually the only ocs i have dating] - they are both asian kids!! chinese!! - qing is kinda eh about physical contact and li is quite touchstarved so qing only lets him hug her and give her affection for li's sake - li is 5'10 while qing is 5'7!! - they have matching tassels,, can u see them?~ +
