They were basically in love when (SPOILERS) Rose got forcefully sent to an alternate dimension, leaving the Doctor alone. The picture in the background is from the scene of which Rose has just been sent into the alternate dimension and is very sad. I'm waiting for all the Whovians to start crying- Like me! :(
